Tales of my Online Shopping Experience In a Nutshell

Online shopping is literally a life saver to people like me, who seldom have the time and energy to go to a physical shop or market to buy things. The entire process is usually stress-free and very convenient especially when you are dealing with a lovely online vendor and a sensible logistics/delivery company, but sometimes it can be really tiring when either the vendor or the delivery person or company decides to disappoint or frustrate you but in all It's usually a pleasant experience for me.

One of my online shopping experience that stands out the most for me was a certain time few years ago that I ordered a phone from a very popular E-commerce store and timely delivery within the stipulated delivery date became a problem. After waiting for so long for it to be delivered and they kept on delaying the delivery and after so much back and forth from them concerning the delivery, I was finally notified that my delivery was on its way on that fateful day. I felt so relieved because at a point I was considering canceling the order and asking for a refund because my patience had started running out. So on that day i was so excited that finally i was going to get my brand new phone.

After receiving it from the delivery man and taking it home , the entire unboxing process started. After that I plugged it to a socket to charge and I got the major shock of my life, the phone refused to charge. At that point I was confused, I tried severally but all to no avail. After several attempts I asked my sister for her charger and tried using it to charge the phone and to my greatest amazement immediately it started charging. To say I was annoyed 😠 was an understatement, I was so furious to the point that I just kept on wishing that if they had a physical shop I was going to go there and create a major scene. At that point I was so frustrated and regretted buying the phone online, first the delayed delivery and to make matters worse the charger was bad.

Everybody around me just kept on sympathizing with me and telling me to calm down. Immediately I sprang into action and composed a very brutal message expressing my displeasure and sent it to their email address. Immediately their customer care called me and started apologizing and saying they would send their dispatch rider to immediately come and collect the charger and give me another one. The next day they did as they had promised and delivered a brand new charger, which I had to test in the presence of the dispatch rider to ensure that it was working perfectly to avoid a repeat of what happened earlier. We both confirmed that it was working and the rider left with the spoilt charger, that was how the issue was resolved. This incident was one that I couldn't forget in a hurry.

Asides this particular event I haven't had so many terrible online shopping experiences, most of my online shopping activities are usually very nice and drama-free. I always make sure I do my due diligence before patronizing a particular vendor, and I can describe myself as a loyal customer. I'm someone that can stick with a particular vendor, brand or product as far as i'm being satisfied by the vendor or product but if I notice any change in either the quality of the product or service or any unruly behaviour of the vendor I would call their attention to it and if I observe that no change is been done that would mark the end of my patronage.

So this is one of my most memorable online shopping experience and I would be elated to read the experiences of others. So Hiveans how has your online shopping experience been, is there any one that stands out the most, I would like to know.

The fact that you said if they had a physical shop, you’d have gone to create a scene is enough to let us know how furious you were. This is totally wrong and I’m sorry you had such an experience.

Exactly, it was the way the customer care representative apologized that was what was able to calm me down and also their swift response to my complaint. The fact that the phone served me and is still serving me till today is what surprises me considering all the drama that happened when it was purchased 😀.
