WiFi? No

Not being shy about this, I have been a mobile data person from day one, and I have never been opportune to rely on WiFi for my internet connection for a full day. No, the highest I have used WiFi is probably four to five hours, and that's all. You may be wondering why I haven't been using WiFi since it's a common thing and most hotels and companies have left the mobile data option for WiFi.

WiFi is a bit costly compared to mobile data
Maybe I might be wrong, especially with the notion that supports the idea of spending less by buying in bulk, but I see WiFi subscriptions as a big deal and more expensive than the common data bundles I know. Taking the likes of Starlink—-Elon's network—I heard that the cost to subscribe to it is very high and can't be compared to the data bundles we have on the local networks in Nigeria. This is why the people who use this network are mostly big organisations that can afford it, due to its effectiveness as well. At my stage right now, I can't even dare to think of getting that installed in my house and start using WiFi. No, I would rather opt for the normal data bundle that I know.

There's a lounge close to my house; they recently installed the Starlink network and opened the service for customers and people around the vicinity to connect through their WiFi connection. I do go there, around the spot where the network is strong, to connect when I'm stuck with poor network on my phone. And this brings me to the effectiveness of WiFi compared to mobile data. Yes, the likes of Starlink are very good and don't disappoint often, and that's why most organisations rely on it.

Coming down to the router thing with the network services we have in Nigeria, I have seen a lot of people using it and kicking off the common mobile data, and I keep wondering how rich these people are.
My brother, who in his free days works in a local government council in the I.T department, comes home with different routers which he connects to his phone and laptop, and I just look at him, imagining how much they're spending to purchase subscriptions that will serve the computer systems in the office to the point of him bringing it home to use. Well, I do tap from it once in a while.

I'm so much used to the mobile data bundle that I go with, and I have never thought of succumbing to the idea of using WiFi. No, I'm already spending a lot on the mobile data subscriptions I do monthly, and I can't increase that—except I have a genuine need for it.

Thanks for reading.

Truly to the point @kingsleyy . Wi-Fi when it comes to internet connection is very expensive to keep up with.

But one thing that is good with Wi-Fi is that once you are able to purchase the router you will enjoy it for many years, choosing the bundles that have double data offer and unlimited.

Mobile data to me reaps people off with the small amount we keep recharging that do not last.

Yes, you're very correct with how we are reaped off via the little little subscriptions. This is why I opted in a good, checked monthly on the mobile data thing.

Thanks for stopping by ma'am

Nice one Kingsley. Enjoy your weekend ❤️

I agree on the cost of WiFi subscription being too costly but it still does not stop me from tapping in when a free one is available 😂😂

Tapping into a free one, especially to download movies and the update big file apps is a big flex😂

I was going to argue about the fact that you said WiFi is more costly than mobile data but after remembering the amount of money I spent on WiFi two weeks ago, you are so right!
But then don’t you think if you accumulate how much you spend on mobile data in a month, it’ll be more than how much a turbo net costs? As in data on a turbo net.

Ohh! You're using WiFi? People are rich oooh!

The mobile data bundle looks economical and more controlled(manageable) to me compared to the wifi
