Hello everyone, how are you? I hope you are doing well. Recently, I was in Bandung for quite a long time. At my younger sister's house, there is internet. So is at my cousin's house. While there, I often used wifi. For me, the wifi is enough to save me internet costs.
I personally need to spend up to IDR 150,000 per month on internet. Or the equivalent of 100 gigabytes per month. While I was in Jakarta, I rarely used wifi. Using wifi when I was in a cafe. Especially a cafe with a good internet network. Not public wifi.
I am personally quite selective in using wifi. This is because public wifi provided by the government is feared to break into some of my personal data. Personal data breaches on public wifi have not actually happened in Indonesia. It's just that I am quite worried. So, I prefer to use cellular internet.
Moreover, I live alone and only use it for tablets and laptops. So, I prefer to use cellular internet. more practical and safe if opened for personal data. I use wifi with a safe location. For example, at my younger sister's and my older cousin's house.
However, when I was at my younger sister's and my older cousin's house, their wifi network was also not very good. At certain hours it turned out to take quite a long time to load. I chose to use my cellular. When living alone, it seems that wifi is not really needed. Moreover, there are no internet facilities in my boarding house.
The cost of cellular internet with wifi is cheaper than cellular. In the past, during the pandemic, wifi seemed to be a necessity. Because we are at home and the monthly internet costs are not too expensive. For people who are often outside the home, the cost will be doubled, because of the use of wifi and cellular data. Boarding houses for the internet will be more expensive.
In Indonesia, internet costs are currently continuing to grow and are cheaper. A number of providers provide cheap and very competitive prices. Moreover, the 5G trend has developed. Internet speeds are also increasingly competitive. That is also the reason why I prefer cellular data. That's all my story. See you later.

I use monthly internet with 5 gigabytes per day, my total spend is IDR 120,000. if in dollars, maybe less than 10 dollars
