A display that is - me

in Digital Lifestyle19 days ago

When I got my first phone, I was a huge fan of changing wallpapers very frequently. Every wallpaper lasted a week, two at most, before I began craving a new look. Then, I was still finding my style and any picture I found appealing to me automatically became my wallpaper. It was so bad then that I didn't mind using pictures of white rabbits, yellow flowers, pink coloured puppies, even if it meant that I had to prepare my eyes by closing it at first and gently opening it whenever my phone screen lights up.

It didn't take long though. Soon, I realized the need for a display that was just ME. And I think that's when I began to make effort in my phone's display. I don't have any design in mind for the new year actually because I'm still very comfortable with things as they are. And I'll tell you why.

Late last year, I began to develop a love for the colour red. And that has influenced my choice a lot, where wallpapers are concerned. Since I started narrowing down choices of wallpapers to an aesthetic that is for me alone, I rarely get tired of them and that means I rarely change them. My current home screen wallpaper has been there for a year, or two thereabout. And my lock screen has been there for about 6 months since I started loving red.

I personalized my lock screen in a way that I don't need to unlock my phone before I find comfort in it. Staring at my lock screen alone, is comfort in itself. I have this display text that works only when my lock screen comes alive. It is a statement I draw strength from and I'm definitely leaving it there till I find another one better. I love my phone's lock screen so much that I don't mind staring at it for minutes. Andd, I do that a lot. My laptop's screen is also a red Pinterest moodboard. I'm definitely not changing that anytime soon because in one of the boards is a picture of a playlist of all my favourite songs from my favourite artist in one place. I do love that one because it's something I have connections to.

My phone's home screen is of a brown Pinterest moodboard. I love that one because one, it looks so cool and also, it gives off a peaceful and positive vibe. Two characteristics I want my year to be full of. I used it throughout last year and I'm still very content with it. The apps on my homescreen, are divided into two. On one slide, there's one for my socials and on the other, I have my work and educational apps. I don't really like scrolling through so many apps before I find what I need so, I have them organized on my home screen.

I have the default theme setting on my phone, to dark. My eyesight aside, I feel like my phone is not mine without it being on dark theme. I read with dark mode, I text with dark mode and do most things in dark mode. Dark mode just feels so comfortable and everything feels different when things are displayed in light mode. Weird even.

I'm currently satisfied with my phone's layout and design. The wallpapers and themes alike. Maybe one day I'll change the red to another colour and the brown for something else. But for now, red, brown and dark theme it is.

This is my entry to Digi-prompts for the week. Do you have a new phone design or layout for the new year? Share with us in the Digital Lifestyle community. Find more about it here

It's good to be on a peaceful and positive vibes for the year, using the suitable wallpaper will contribute to keeping our vibes in check

Yes, it will.

I can relate. There are times something feels so weird when I mistaken turn my phone to light mode. Dark mode all the way even though it can get annoying sometimes.
I like this red board of yours. I think it’s classy.

I do think so too. Thank you.
