I’ve always wondered how the online shopping worked ever since I was in SHS. This was because my senior sister was always ordering stuff from Kikuu (an online shop) which was very hot back then. I thought ordering stuff online was risky cause in the case of dresses you wouldn’t be able to get what you wanted.
Fast forward to 2024 I was introduced to Jumia by a friend. Wait, I knew about Jumia but since I didn’t have anyone encouraging me to buy anything from there I refrained from buying anything there. One other reason was I didn’t know how it worked so I didn’t care about doing anything there.
So recently a friend of mine came visiting and I told him about the price I had wanted to pay for a router cause a friend told me about here and how much he got his. Mind you, this was after asking a friend of mine who works at the MTN office if I could get some from them but he told me they were out of stock. This friend of mine mentioned a price which was ok in my opinion cause I know a router isn’t cheap here. Well when this other friend of mine came around we were talking and then I told him about my plan to purchase a router.
He quickly suggested that I try Jumia out since he buys most of his stuff there and he has never regretted using their platform. So I asks him to search and lo and behold it was exactly what I wanted. It was even at a lower price so I was interested. He asked that we take a look at the reviews as he used the reviews to buy stuff at times and they never fail him.
So I decided to open an account with his guidance I set up everything. The first order I placed was the router that I had wanted. It took less than a week and then I was given a message that my order was in and I could come and pick it up.
Well, let’s just say that they didn’t disappoint. It’s exactly what I ordered for and up until now I’ve not encountered any problems with it.
Ever since then I’ve made a few purchases on Jumia and well I’ve been pretty fortunate not to be disappointed. They make it easier with the integrated mobile money payment as well. Ever since u started using it I’ve not had to return something cause it wasn’t what I wanted either.

Jumia has been okay for me too. I just hope the odd things people have experienced with them don't come to me. Amen 😅
