It's a pleasure to participate in this community's weekly topics for the first time.
To answer the question posed, I first had to think and calculate how old I would be in fifty years. Mehn, I'd be an old lady by then. Grayed and agile, I know. Lol.
I've never thought about keeping a digital time capsule, but the thought of it makes sense. That's what our parents did with picture albums, only that they weren't digital, right?
If I created a digital time capsule from today, for the next fifty years, here are what it would contain:
One, pictures. Of course, we all like to see pictures our parents had taken long ago and I'd like mine to be seen too. All the memories to be re-lived. Video memories would not be left out, too.
Two, funny clips and memes. I'm someone who's obsessed with seeing videos that make me laugh and memes that put smiles on my face and I would like that the generation of that time see that we had the fun and vibe in us. Surely, I'm throwing in lots and lots of the Aki and pawpaw movie clips. They're classic!
I was speaking to someone once, and when I mentioned the 2go app, she looked at me like I was talking in the rubbish. Upon realizing that she did not know the app, I almost exclaimed 'this gen-z children sef', but I caught myself knowing I am a gen z, too. I don't know if 2go still exists, but it would have been great to still have it around for reference and to bask in the nostalgia of it. Therefore, thirdly, for my digital capsule, I would leave behind the password to my social media accounts, making sure I have followed all my favourite creators and saving all of my best, worst and most hilarious contents so they could easily find them. That way, what know for themselves what content creation was like, the kinds of content that i consumed, and what ruled my media pages.
I think this is enough for me to leave behind. Exactly what I'd like my capsule to comprise of.
