It was a special milestone at Colney Lane this weekend. It was its 300th Parkrun. The chilly morning and the wet conditions didn't affect the amazing turnout that followed. 397 participants braved the conditions and took part.

Colney Lane is A unique Parkrun, being based at the University Of East Anglia it attracts students far and wide and from various backgrounds. The university also boasts a great campus and surrounding area, some may even say it is one of the best campuses in the United Kingdom. Located outside of Norwich, its surrounding area is full of woodlands, fields and even a lake with a connecting river. It is A hotspot for nature.

I first participated at Colney Lane on 07/10/23 and since then I have participated 5 times at this Parkrun. I wish that number were higher because it is a very nice course with various terrain challenges and there is tea and cake so it is surely perfect right?.

I turned up for this Parkrun feeling very happy to be back. It is to be the first Parkrun of 2025 for me, Yes I am a late starter this year I will use injury and bad weather as my excuse but I have been a spectator of all the Parkruns so far this year so if I don't actively participate I'm always watching. Still suffering some confidence issues with my injury I decided instead of running I would walk, in the end, I did both alternating between the two but still taking it easy. I also had a friend join me at this event and whilst getting around the course we discussed various topics from books to politics to even a future Parkrun trip to Scotland. It certainly made the 5k fly by and greeting us at the finish was another friend who is quite the athlete herself I would need a bicycle to keep up with her pace and even then I would struggle.

After the Parkrun I felt good. I felt that buzz you get when you get something done early in the mornings, the tiredness from waking up early soon vanishes and you get a sense of completion.

With that I conclude today's post, thank you for reading today.
