Yeah I went to Killington for the first time this winter. I normally go to Loon because of the proximity and price. However Killington has some double black diamonds and some tougher ski runs so it's way better.
They try to be the last ski resort open every year in New England, so they keep that run "Superstar" open as long as possible. During the winter it is a single black diamond from top to bottom however the headwall section is as steep as any double black on the mountain. However the headwall is really wide and normally well groomed and tons of snow so single black.
Took home a ton of stickers from Loon many years ago. Wish to make it up to New England eventually with the family again make it a “trip”! Have to teach all these youngsters how to ski or board..
Loon has made some serious advancements in the past few years, the Kangamangus 8 Chair is probably the best chairlift on the East coast, gets a ton of people up the mountain quickly in comfort. One of the best mountains (mid week) weekends are very busy, hard to beat the price when bringing a whole crew (3 kids) like I have to do.
I’ll remember that come planning time
