Siempre he tenido una relación difícil con las selfies…¿por qué? Bueno, pues en primer lugar no soy nada fotogénica. En muchas oportunidades me han sugerido que para sentirme un poco más a gusto frente a la cámara ensaye frente al espejo, practique expresiones y conozca un poco más mis ángulos…pero cuando llega el momento de la fotografía todo lo que pude haber practicado anteriormente no sirve de nada. En segundo lugar, no poseo un fanatismo elevado hacia las selfies, porque siento que la sociedad ha sobrevalorado este tipo de fotografías, convirtiéndolas –a mi parecer– en un acto un poco narcisista, un actual símbolo de la adoración a nuestro yo.

En redes sociales abundan los selfies con la misma temática: la típica fotografía donde se muestra una parte del brazo de la persona que sostiene la cámara y la persona haciendo alguna extraña expresión (como la popular Duck Face). Con esto no estoy diciendo que realizar una fotografía de nosotros mismos esté mal…todo lo contrario, lo hacemos porque queremos recordarnos cómo éramos en un momento determinado, lo que hacíamos y cómo nos sentíamos…y esto es totalmente válido.
