FOTOS OF THE GRAVEYARD MADE BY ME ON CURAÇAO
during our holiday in december 2022
🪦🪦🪦
We all lay there in the end,
some of us in an urn upon a grave, some in a grave.
Some above the ground some in the ground, and even then there are differences.
We all in the end have a place there,
the judge, the juror, the narcissist, the militair, the wife,
the manipulator, the child, the ex, the attentionseeker, the one-sided friend, the best friend, the long ago lover, the grandma, the grandpa, the drainer, the dreamer, the fighter , the one in sickness, the one in health, the always prepared one,
and one day,
( preferably when I am 99 )
you and me.
second are murals and graffiti , for a community here on hive,
and the last one is graveyards.
Yes, cemeteries!I have some things that I am interested in while traveling through life and on my / our holidays aswell and if I get the chance to photograph it I will. One is a fun one , for my tag #toiletthursday ,
Graveyards Britt?
Are you serious ??
Yes, graveyards, they give me a sense of serenity and peace. I also love to think the graves without visitors are pleased that some foreign blond girl came to visit just for them.
I am intrigued by the head stones, the date, both birth and dead and the flowers left behind by loved ones for the ones that crossed over the rainbowbridge.
All together having a place in the graveyard. Maybe they celebrate together while we don't know.
This is a blog I made while travelling through Curaçao in december. This graveyard is on a hill going to weWtpoint. We came across this cemetery ( sort of planned ahead ) on our way to WESTPOINT and its beaches to go snorkelling.
Westpoint back in the days was also the slave city.
Its started to be built around 1860. We were underway to playa Kalki and Playa Knip. I blogged about this in december about our snorkelling and turtle adventures.
This cemetery is in soft pastels and all the people who are layed there to rest in cellars. You can put multiple people in one cellar. The colors make the cemetery look not so sad but festive , but than ofcourse in a weird way.
Britt, Do you enter on purpose ?
Yes, Well let me put it this way , most of the times I search and see the village we booked a b&b or hotel and on the map I mostly look for places within walking or driving distance so I can visit. We drive to other tourist places to visit on the island anyway.
I visit it alone, alone because my family loves me but doesn’t share this hobby. I posted a few cemeteries here on hive, in different communities, this time in this community, because these days death is on my mind constantly. And hive memorial forest on hive can use a cemetery blog right?
Photography is possible everywhere.
There is also a blog in everything.
You just got to see it.
See you on the next blog ,
Keep up the hive work,
And happy tuesday…………

Very interesting hobby, and a nice read. I can see the fascination, but maybe in a different perspective. I often space out and wonder what the people looked like. Did they love? How are they with their families? Were they happy?
Even as a young girl I’ve always gone to the cemetery for my grandma. Eventually, all of my grandparents passed away so a lot of family reunions sort of end up around their graves. I remember as a child, I loved collecting candle wax from different places, re-melting them and creating a ball of wax with them. I looked forward to those.
I guess in a way, death is sad but it can be beautiful too. Having peace and tranquility, no more suffering for the people you love. I do miss them though. Sometimes, absentmindedly, I’ll see something I knew they liked and would pick it up to buy it for them, then I remember they were gone. It gets sad for me when that happens but I hope they are happy to know that they are remembered and not forgotten.

What a great comment thank you I also always wonder how the people looked but in Italy almost always there is a picture here that was not the case.
I will now go to your account and see and vote on a blog you made
