RE: Alameed Me Some Coffee; A Review

That coffee looks so good !

I heard a theory about the difference between the way the English & Americans drink coffee, and the way the rest of the world does it. England and America drink tea and coffee primarily for hydration, while the rest of the world uses it as a mild stimulant as well as something to have around when you're being sociable.

Before the Industrial Revolution, water was poison (parasites & diseases), so the English drank loads of beer and were basically permanently drunk. All of us. But then machinery came along, and if you were too drunk you might fall in and lose an arm. So we switched to tea and coffee. By the time the rest of the world industrialised, they'd learned from our mistakes and did sewage systems early in the process !

Woah what a cool comment! I knew about beer being basically the only safe way to consume water in the past, but I never knew coffee/tea were the next phase of that! You've given me a new perspective 😄

For sure coffee is more just social here, and I think that's part of why the cups are so small- you can fill 4-6 of these tiny guys even from the two-cup kettle. It's standard to pour guests coffee when they arrive, and when you'd like them to leave you pour another round LOL!

Too bad we don't have that in the USA, I'm from the Midwest and we just say "Welp..." many times until our guests get the idea 🤣

Thanks for checking out my post and teaching me something! 💚
