Week 109 Prompt: "Sipping Coffee and Dim sum Breakfast: A Couple's Perfect Morning Bond”

Hello, Coffee lovers, usually my husband and I woke up he had already gone off to our small food court, today, when I woke up at 9 am today, it was Saturday no school just relaxed and slowly woke up and my husband was still at home he came out the shower when I woke up, and he asks me if I want to go out for breakfast and I say yes I have been craving dim sum for few days since quite long we don’t have it. It was one of those perfect mornings, the kind where the sun was gentle, and the world outside the coffee shop seemed to slow down just enough for me to catch my breath. now in my 40s, had settled into my favorite corner of the small café, There was something comforting about it, something steady.

As our kids had their breakfast just two of us went to the dim sum shop, we just walked because the place is just 2 minute's walk from our lobby condo, while walking my husband asked me why I never tell him I want to eat dim sum or why you don’t go by yourself if I’m not around? And I told him I saving money for my vacation to the Philippines in June and so boring eating alone, then I saw you so busy at the shop don’t want to disturb you. Then when we arrived at the dim sum restaurant we got our table and sat down the waitress came to take our orders, he ordered 3 coffees 2 coffees for him and me 1 glass only, according to him the coffee was in a small glass haha.. when our coffee came first before our foods took a slow sip of my coffee, the warmth of it spread through my hands, calming the thoughts that had been racing in my head for days.

But here, in the coffee shop, it was easier to think. Easier to just breathe. I had always loved the energy of the café—the way it felt like I was part of something, yet still could find my little world within it. The soft chatter of the waitresses sometimes, the low music playing in the background, and the smell of coffee—it all made me feel alive in a way I couldn't quite explain. Then our dim sum came and my husband asked me if I needed some more, I told him to eat what we ordered first and then only order more if we were not enough. So we enjoyed our dim sum share every steam dim sum set we ordered, we both liked the dumpling, dipping it into the soy sauce before taking a bite. The flavors were simple but perfect, I always find it easier to write here. There's something about the atmosphere."I get it. It’s not too quiet, not too loud. Just the right amount of buzz to get your thoughts moving." And everything here feels just right. People coming and going, and the noise is in the background. But there’s a kind of peace in it too. A balance."

Then I realized how true it was. The busy café didn’t overwhelm me, it somehow gave me space to breathe. The world outside was moving, but here, in this little corner, I could pause. And something about that made it easier to unlock the creativity that had been blocked for weeks. This place is so much of a happy deco they put it like the Chinese New Year is not over yet It might help me to be more relaxed and all the ideas came into my head. The way the world keeps going faster, but I don’t have to keep up with it. I just get to be here, drinking my coffee, eating dim sum, and full of ideas. I don’t bring note paper and a pen, but I type some words on my handphone for me to check after we back home or when I want to compose something to post in hive. This always happens to me when I go everywhere just suddenly the idea starts to click. It was not just the café was some magical place that could instantly solve my writing idea it was that the atmosphere there helped me relax, and reminded me to stop forcing it. Sometimes, that’s all it took to unlock my creativity. After sitting in comfortable silence, enjoying our dim sum and coffee, each lost in my little creative world, knowing that whatever I was doing, we were doing it together. And that was the perfect start to any morning.
