The coffee stall's name caught our interests when we were going for a walk at the Capitol Lagoon one afternoon. In every walk, of course, there will be snacks and drinks after that when resting. Since this place is a haven of street foods, fast food chains and malls, we chose the nearest one and that was the Street Foods beside the perimeter of the place. A few carts, stalls and mini-vans parked there to sell different types of street foods like Goto, Fishballs, Kwek-Kwek, Tempura, peanuts, burgers, then Milkshakes, Milk Teas, Soft drinks and Coffee for drinks.
Patikim: Rise & Grind
In this small corner beside the road, they offer three (3) kinds of drinks. They have Espresso Based, Non Coffee Drinks, and Refreshers. For a change, I bought a latte since it was a light afternoon with no loads of stuff from work or school and just a normal day to unwind and enjoy.
Actually, that Dirty Matcha, Dark Mocha and Snow Mint Mocha was tempting. I wanted to explore other flavors only for that day. For busy days, of course, I'll be needing the stronger ones to help me go through in a rough and exhausting day, then that will some double shot espresso or 3 cups of hot brewed coffee. And this time, I don't have to do much but indulge in a peaceful park. So, I bought that Spanish Latte and the Patata bought the same for himself.
A time spent in a park wouldn't be complete without the foods. Since we're not that picky, we bought street foods outside also, then bring it inside to the vacant spot under the tree where we found earlier. We've been from Ayala actually, we did nothing but to look around and entertain ourselves with window shopping. We didn't need anything anyway. We just wanted to go out once in a while to have some fresh air and relax our minds from the heavy responsibilities at home. At this time, a short walk help a lot to our mental state.
While eating, we've noticed a prenup shoot. A lady dressed in white with some guys and other ladies following her passed by our spot and headed to Carabao Statue nearby. Maybe, the couple used to date here, that's why this place is memorable for them. And good for them for staying strong in the relationship and taking up the next level, how blessed are they.
Anyway, their coffee was good. It was as strong as the Spanish Latte that I had at H.Espresso cafe. It dawned on me at that moment that I was just spending too much on a coffee on a fancy cafe while it can be bought for an affordable price on small stalls like the Patikim. Maybe, it has to do with the ingredients like the variety of beans that was used and the supplier where they are buying the product. And honestly, I was also being the choosy type on where to buy sometimes.
We didn't stayed that long in the park. We left and went home after we finished our foods and drinks. It was getting late anyway and we have get ready again for what will tomorrow bring in school and work. Thankfully, we got to unwind and relax just for a while before venturing in another life struggles. It helped a lot for us to gather lots of energy and have some rest.
Hello friend, first of all, that whole experience was very good and above all, going out and being able to do something different, I also can't imagine being walking around and finding a stall with that name, it really turned out to be very good and attractive. This choice of coffee is excellent to recharge your energy and be able to continue and, above all, play it safe. Everything is very nice and I hope you enjoyed it.
It's a startup business, I guess. I hope they get popular in the future.
