Have you ever had some coffee that was really bad?
Chances are you did at some point in life. Some of it isn't the best for drinking. But what would be its other use besides it. Coffee can be used for many other things. Around some places it is even applied to wounds. Don't do this! It is really bad for healing.
Anyways, this is about a coffee date. Around the time I came back from Caracas, I decided to go get some coffee with @octocel. Before having the coffee we had some pizza. Things were aligned for not having the best of both things. Who knows why!
We went to two places at Cumana Mall. It had been a really long time since I had had any pizza at the food court. Unbeknownst to me, the owner of the pizza joint wasn't the same. And quality had dropped a lot. We had one pepperoni pizza combo that comes with a soda. Not very memorable food. It was a combination of the quality of ingredients and that way they were put together. Needless to say, I'm not going there again.
When we finished with the pizza, we went for some coffee. The idea of the day was coming back to my place to watch some movies.
Going to Amarelo for coffee was the fancy choice, but it wasn't the best one either. It was like the day was set for having both bad pizza and bad coffee. The problem here was the acidity of the coffee. Any strong black coffee has some sour notes. But notes! It's not like the whole deal with the cup of coffee is it being really sour. And when such a thing happens it tends to be related to bad filtering. It can be that the machine they use for coffee has not had its filters cleaned. Maybe there's something wrong with their coffee.
It could also be the fact that whenever you go by the place, most of the people you see sitting there are having sweets or any form of coffee that requires more things. You know the things Frappuccinos, Mochaccinos and else. It seems like it isn't the place for having Espresso.
We just didn't like the coffee that much and decided to go home right away and have our real date plan unfold without thinking too much about the subpar quality of food and drink we had had previously. The only good thing about the place at that moment were the aesthetics of their china. It does look good in photos.
Life is too short for having bad coffee. But it is also too short to remember you had any.

Indeed. Can't say I remember any truly bad cup of coffee, it's not sticking out in my memory. Good cups of coffee, now, that's a different story. Glad you managed to save your day together from being a complete disaster :D
