Have you ever had a date interrupted to go for coffee? Last week, after inviting @octocel for a second ice-cream date, she had a call from her mother asking to go get coffee. It was an interesting situation. So I tagged along for the coffee and had an interesting conversation about life and some other stories while we were at it.
The place is called Dulce Tentación (Sweet Temptation). It is a kiosk locates inside the most concurred mall in town. The place has a few tables around and it is somewhat comfortable if you don't mind people walking around. It is inside a mall in the middle of a hallway. Anyways, they sell sweets and a variety of coffee preparations.
In this occasion, we had each a cup of espresso. It was really good. I like strong coffee and the brews made around here deliver that. The coffee has a mild toast and packs a punch of flavors with a mix of sour and bitterness that makes it ideal for waking up or recharging batteries. It comes with some little biscuits to help your palate if you're not used to drinking this kind of strong coffee. It also comes with some sugar, but you can skip that if you know what you're drinking. Putting sugar in espresso is like throwing water to the sea to make it less salty.
Having a coffee with @adncabrera is always an experience. We were taking some photos for posts like this. I gave her some recommendation and in turn, she told me the story of how one time she was mistaken by a spirit of the forest following a hunter. It is an incredible story. Quite funny! But it is not mine to tell. However, it is something more people should know.
When the coffee was over, she left and I resumed my date with her daughter and spend some more time looking at the stores and talking about life and making silly jokes.
If you ask me, that's some quality time in dates. Ice-cream, coffee, and silly jokes.
In case you're wondering if I feel weird by dating the daughter of one of my mentors, let me tell you this. It felt weird at first and then not weird at all. I don't mind it one bit.

It's always very nice to have coffee with you, @bertrayo.
The story you refer to was told in a short story, the draft of which was a post I did years ago here on Hive. Nice to know you liked it. If coffees are for anything, it's for sharing stories.
Un abrazote
On that much we agree. Coffee and stories tie together nicely.
This is a lovely and involving post as always! ☕🍦I liked that you shared not only the coffee experience, but that warm and human connection that generates that unique moment. I was curious about the anecdote of the confusion with the “spirit of the forest”. I'm 1000% curious, ha ha ha ha. 😂 The date with ice cream and coffee seems to me a perfect plan, certainly a winning combination when it comes to enjoy and share different anecdotes.
Ha, ha, ha, ha. The story is a lot of fun. I might tell about it one day of I go over to Barquisimeto.
The date was lovely. It is amazing time with two amazing women I admire.
It's always great to have a space to share. I look forward to reading the story. :P
I love this kind of interruptions and even more if they are accompanied by a good coffee. I feel the same way as you do, so I prefer to drink my coffee without sugar. Thanks for sharing your experience. A big hug 😊
Coffee without sugar is the complete experience of the brew.
Sharing a coffee, talking about everything and then going for a walk is really a very good date. The photos of the coffee look delicious. Thanks for telling us about such a nice outing. Regards
Thanks for dropping by. It was a nice afternoon.
