Dear reader friends of this community, a couple of weeks ago I visited a small but pleasant cafe located in the quiet Cumbres de Curumo urbanization in the southwest of the city of Caracas. The first thing I must confess is that I entered just out of curiosity, but as soon as I passed the threshold of the door, I was delighted with what I had before my eyes at first glance. Accompanied by my sister Myrna, we ordered a coffee that had been ground in our presence in a beautiful grinder for grinding coffee beans located in view of all visitors. I immediately requested the respective permission and took some photos of the place and later we returned to interview the owner of the cozy cafe. All of this was carried out under select classical jazz music at a suitable volume that generally serves as a backdrop without affecting the conversations of the visitors.
In the aforementioned interview we were able to obtain valuable information about the origins of the place, information that we share with you below. This small café is called “Café de la Casa”, which is a family design of our interviewee, Engineer Álvaro Mogollón, and his wife, who make up a couple of professional entrepreneurs. The place was built in a space that was occupied by a bank of which only a fragment of the wall remains as a memory, where the bank windows were located, which was used to divide the administrative part of the area where the different pieces of furniture are located, and make up the coffee design.
At present, 120 square meters have been used on two floors or levels, with only the ground floor being in service, while the upper part is being refurbished to expand services and be able to offer a varied menu of dishes to visitors, as well as continuing with live performances by local jazz musicians.
The place was inaugurated in September 2020 and since its inception it has shown a different face from many cafes in the capital; its original stamp is given by the very European character of its furniture, the exquisite coffee and select pastries, the background music, the variety and color of its walls, ceilings and floors, and the kindness of its staff. To give a feeling of spaciousness, the entire front is made of glass, and some awnings and tables have even been placed outside, which complement the tables inside. We learned that the squares featured on the walls are by national artists and can be purchased at moderate prices.
The slogan of the café, which its owner proudly tells us, is “Gastronomy, art, events and friendship in one place”. Next, I have the pleasure of showing you the series of photos that I hope you like. I only respectfully ask you to make a comment, criticize us or give us the benefit of your votes to encourage our desire to collaborate with the community through our posts. I hope you enjoy the writing and the photographs.

Hello there!
I particularly like the unique wood work in the ceiling, and the furnishing that has obviously been repurposed:)
Hello Millycf, I appreciate your words and I share with you the taste for the roof. On the other hand, indeed, the furniture is used, in some cases repainted or restored, but in my opinion they have done it well. I don't want to pass up the coffee they serve there, being a drinker of several cups of coffee daily, I can assure you that the beans selected by the owner are of the highest quality. Receive my cordial greetings.
Congratulations, your post has been added to Pinmapple! 🎉🥳🍍

A place with many details to admire.
The coffee mill is great.
I like that they have paintings of the Doctor. Jose Gregorio Hermandez 🙏
Hello Lisrl, indeed, in such a small space, you can enjoy many aesthetic details, including the coffee grinder. I infer that you are Venezuelan or have been in the country, by recognizing the figure of José Gregorio Hernández, who can be considered the patron saint of Venezuelan Catholics. Thank you very much for your comments, receive a cordial greeting.
Venezuelan and catholic jajaja
So many different patterns in the place. I like the ceiling and floor designs.
Hello Leaky, indeed, the ceiling and the floor, both designed by the owner of the place, attract a lot of attention. Receive my greetings and thanks you for your comment.
I enjoy this Photoshoot about this place, I'd like to visit it someday. 👻
Hello Franchalad, it is a pleasure to know that you liked the photos of "Café de la Casa", I hope you can visit it and enjoy the atmosphere and a good Creole coffee. Best regards
