As the preparations for Christmas were in full swing in our house, we started talking about whether Santa Claus would visit us this year. I told my son, who thought this could only happen in fairy tales, that fairy tales could also be real and that if you wanted this, you could write a letter to Santa Claus and invite him to our house. He rushed inside and brought two envelopes and said that I should write a letter too. We both wrote our letters and mailed them.
Dear Santa
*When I was a child, I used to write to you every Christmas Eve. I always dreamed that one day you would come to give me a present, like in the fairy tales I read. Every night before going to bed, I would look up at the sky and keep my eyes there for hours to see you and your reindeer. I would secretly hide some of the gingerbread cookies my mother made so I could offer them to you.
I'm grown up now, but I never lost that hope. I have a little boy. When I was raising my son, you were always in most of the stories I told at night.
Just like his father in the past, he wanted to write you a letter today with all his excitement.
I don't want him to experience the disappointment I had as a child. I have a proposal for you to give my son an unforgettable Christmas.
I know you are very busy right now, you have many houses to visit and many children to make happy.
I want to help you wrap the gifts you have chosen to give to the children.
We even have some gifts for you.
If you accept, it will make my little boy and me very happy.
For days we have been decorating our house in the most beautiful way, lighting our Christmas tree, baking fragrant cookies like we do every year, and I have some delicious cookies for you, just like I did when I was a child.
I hope my letter reaches you and you accept my invitation.
With love.
Darkness fell, the clock ticked and my son, who couldn't take it anymore, fell asleep.
I brewed my coffee, went to the window and looked up at the sky, just like when I was a child. I took a sip of my coffee, and it took away all my tiredness. Meanwhile, the wind outside changed. The sky lit up and on the reindeer, a twinkling Santa Claus was waving. I took another sip of coffee to regain my composure. Am I really experiencing this now, or am I in the dream I had when I was 8 years old?
My heart racing, I rushed to the door. The splendor of the deer was even more beautiful than I had imagined.
He sat in a chair by the fireplace and I brewed him a delicious cup of coffee. I still couldn't get over my astonishment.
I asked him, you never answered my letters until now. Why did you come this time?
He said sincerely:
The world has changed a lot, recently the little hearts of all people and especially children have been broken so much. No child deserves to go through this. My goal this year is a little different than every time.
I want to touch the hearts of children all over the world. That's why I started my work much earlier. The sentence you mentioned in your letter "I don't want my son to be disappointed" moved me.
He said he couldn't wait to see him. We wrapped the gifts and went to my son's room for the real surprise.
He said "ho ho ho", "wake up little man" with the gift packages in his hand and his famous laugh.
My son looked like he was dreaming at that moment and his eyes opened wide with happiness. He jumped up and ran to Santa and Santa sat on his knees. He looked into my son's eyes and said, "I am here because you have been a very good boy this year and I wanted to bring you the presents you asked for in your letter.
The real gift is this beautiful family. Appreciate it. I may not be here every year, but your family will always be with you. Teach that to your children when you grow up.
We all went downstairs and prepared a wonderful feast for Santa Claus. We said goodbye to Santa Claus and thanked him very much for giving us unforgettable memories this Christmas.
I would like to thank @cinnccf for #spillthebeans this beautiful idea. I never thought I would have so much fun writing it :) I hope you will like it.
