Surviving life one coffee at a time ☕️

You wanna hear a story? Too late, you're about to 🫶🏻

The first time I ever tasted coffee was back when I found out I was pregnant - early 2016. "Weird..." you might say. In fact, extremely bizarre. Especially knowing that I've worked at coffee shops for about 7 years up until that point, yet I have never felt the urge to have a cup. And, you know, because pregnant women are told to limit their caffeine intake.

But on that cold, winter day emotions were running high and, to my surprise, the only way out I could see for myself was a hot cup of decaf. I believe that was the day my love for coffee started. And it hasn't stopped ever since. It has guided me through some bad times, accompanied me through the good ones and, most importantly, it has opened my eyes to the wonders and magic of coffee shops.

They have become somewhat of a constant in my life. There's something so enchanting, so wonderful about a cute, tiny, quiet place where time seems to stop for a little while. As a mom (and as a human living in this crazy fast-paced world), I appreciate a good rest from time to time.

I've always been drawn to cafés - the ethereal blend of coffee aroma and fresh baked pastries; the smooth, mellow soundtrack in the background, awakening all our senses and captivating every inch of our souls; the occasional sweet whisper around the place somewhat reminding us we are here, now...Every time I find my brain rushing through the "what if's" of yesterday and the "maybe's" of tomorrow, I hide away in one of these java joints. Whether it be alone, or in the most delightful of companies...Whether it be in Montreal, or in fancy Paris.

No matter the weather, no matter the reason, no matter my mood - I know a visit to my favourite coffee place will free my soul and transform it into a mighty yet delicate phoenix, rising from the ashes, overcoming anything in its way. And honestly, I'm pretty sure I've survived life up to this point thanks to exactly these little visits.

I'll end this little adventure with a favourite coffee quote by Terry Pratchett: "Coffee is a way of stealing time that should by rights belong to your older self."

Thank you for reading all the way through and savouring each sip of this little caffeinated trip 🫶🏻
Much love and have a great weekend ahead!

Hello friend, how beautiful that story you share with us, where being able to share and enjoy a cup of coffee will always be the best and the same thing also happened to me from that first moment I drank that drink, and from there a day cannot go by without be taking and it is impressive. That place looks very comfortable, cozy, and that combination that you managed to make is very rich and great that they enjoyed that little sharing and in that way created great moments.

Appreciate your words! The photos are actually from different coffee places I've visited in the past year but I agree, they are indeed very cozy 😊
Thank you so much for the comment!

I love coffee too! As much as I love the warm cafe ambiance, I haven't yet found a local one that understands my taste.

I grind my single origin local beans, brew and French press at home. A ritual that feels almost like meditation, and a pick me up that rarely fails.

I enjoy your post, thanks for sharing!

Girl, you have mastered the art of coffee! We had a French press at my old job - the taste was exquisite. And there was always a line up 😄
