Come with me to visit again the café El Venerable. I was near the Catholic church La Candelaria, where the mortal remains of the now Saint Dr. José Gregorio Hernández rest, in Caracas, Venezuela. This church is very popular among the devotees, apart from the fact that now in a small annex of the church, they installed this original coffee, which is on one side of the place, which I had visited for the first time almost a year ago and they were just organizing it at that time, more, however, I had the opportunity to enjoy an excellent coffee outdoors, on that occasion, where they have an outdoor umbrella and comfortable chairs arranged for that purpose.
And, as good things always repeat themselves, I decided to visit them again, taking advantage of the fact that I was nearby and in the company of a friend that I found nearby and what better excuse to take a break and have a delicious coffee; besides I noticed that the place had something different; so we decided to enter to see what they had new and I was not wrong. When we ordered our coffees, two lattes, while I waited for the barista to prepare them, I dedicated myself to detailing and taking pictures of the place. I noticed that on this occasion, there were new things, such as statuettes of the Servant of God, as Dr. José Gregorio is also called, and other Catholic religious articles.
I also noticed that they offered chocolate chip cookies, decorated pancakes and vanilla pancakes to go with the coffee, if you like. But the best thing is that they have set up a second floor, where visitors can access through a beautiful spiral staircase. At once I asked permission to the person in charge of the place and went up to take more pictures of everything that was there. The first thing I saw was that there were oil paintings by different artists, all in reference to the Venerable and now Saint Dr. José Gregorio Hernández.
I could also see a living room, with antique furniture, where to sit, if the visitors prefer. On one of the wooden tables is an old leather briefcase used by the doctors of the time, as part of the decoration. This adds a special touch to the whole environment. The place is illuminated by natural light, because it has a stained glass window in circular form, with the image of the Servant of God drawn very subtly, that finished complementing the simple decoration that has as a central theme, the figure of Dr. Jose Gregorio Hernandez, as well as throughout the ecclesiastical enclosure.
Here the coffee is a 10 a 10, excellent, besides a fast and friendly service. I could also see that they sell various religious articles, from candles, figurines, rosaries, scapulars, religious holy cards, for anyone who requires any of these things. Another thing I noticed is that it has a direct access from the church to the café. So if you want to enjoy a delicious coffee after the religious service, this is the place to do both, without leaving its facilities. Acompáñame a visitar de nuevo al café El Venerable. Me encontraba cerca de la iglesia católica La Candelaria, lugar donde reposan los restos mortales del ahora Santo Dr. José Gregorio Hernández, en Caracas, Venezuela. Esta iglesia es muy popular entre los devotos, aparte de que ahora en un pequeño anexo de la iglesia, instalaron este original café, que está a un costado del lugar, que había visitado por primera vez ya hace casi un año y apenas lo estaban organizando en ese entonces, más, sin embargo, tuve la oportunidad de disfrutar un excelente café al aire libre, en esa ocasión, donde tienen un paraguas de exteriores y cómodas sillas dispuestas para ese propósito.
Y, como lo bueno siempre se repite, decidí visitarles de nuevo, aprovechando que andaba cerca y en compañía de una amiga que me conseguí cerca y que mejor excusa para hacer una pausa y tomarnos un rico café; aparte de que note de que el lugar tenía algo como diferente; así es que decidimos ingresar para ver que tenían de nuevo y no me equivoque. Cuando pedimos nuestros cafés, dos cafés con leche, mientras esperaba que el barista no los preparara, me dediqué a detallar y tomar fotos del lugar. Me pude dar cuenta de que en esta ocasión, había nuevas cosas, como estatuillas del Siervo de Dios, como también se le dice al Dr. José Gregorio y otros artículos religiosos católicos.
También pude observar, que ofrecían como acompañantes del café, si es el gusto, galletas con chispas de chocolates, panques decorados y de vainilla. Pero lo mejor es que habilitaron un primer piso, donde los visitantes pueden acceder a través de una hermosa escalera en forma de caracol. De una vez pedí permiso a la encargada del lugar y subí a tomar más fotos de todo lo que allí había. Lo primero que vi, era que había pinturas al óleo de diferentes artistas, todas en referencia con El Venerable ahora Santo Dr. José Gregorio Hernández.
Igualmente, pude visualizar un salón de estar, con antiguos muebles, donde sentarse, si así lo prefiere el público visitante. En una de las mesitas de madera está un antiguo maletín de cuero utilizado por los doctores de la época, como parte de la decoración. Eso le puso un toque especial a todo el ambiente. El lugar está iluminado por luz natural, porque tiene un vitral en forma circular, con la imagen del Siervo de Dios dibujada muy sutilmente, eso termino de complementar la sencilla decoración que tiene como tema central, la figura del Dr. Jose Gregorio Hernández, así como en todo el recinto eclesiástico.
Aquí el café es de un 10 un 10, excelente, aparte de un rápido y amable servicio. También pude ver que venden varios artículos religiosos, desde velas, figurillas, rosarios, escapularios, estampitas religiosas, para todo aquel que requiera alguna de estas cosas. Otra cosa que noté es que tiene un acceso directo, desde la iglesia al café. Así es que si quieren disfrutar de un rico café, luego del servicio religioso, este es el lugar, para hacer las dos cosas, sin salir de sus instalaciones. Espero que les agrade este recorrido en esta nueva visita a uno de mis cafés preferidos, saludos!

La gente de todo hace marketing, ya San José Gregorio es hoy en día una marca, pero dejando eso de lado me gusta el lugar, se ve que tiene un aura acogedora y tranquila, disfrutar de un buen café en un lugar apacible no tiene precio.
