"La DulcerĂa CafĂ©" | Coffee shop in Barquisimeto☕

A Cherished Memory from My Small Town đŸ™ïž

In Barquisimeto, there’s a coffee I didn’t know about called "La DulcerĂa CafĂ©", which has several locations, including some in Valencia and Madrid!! (So, I'll be visiting it soon).

In Barquisimeto, there are two branches: one at the Sambil shopping center and another in Santa Rosa, in front of the plaza. We decided to go to the Santa Rosa location during our outing, and I can honestly say that the place, the food, and the company made this spot very special for me.

I can’t recall the exact prices because I don’t remember, but in my opinion, it was a bit pricey for the portions. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with cheddar cheese, vegetables, crispy chicken, and pickled cucumber (I love it), which came with fries and sauce. But with just one burger, I didn’t feel full, so you should complement it with another savory dish or dessert. On the other hand, Daniel ordered a caprese panini (his favorite), which I tried, and the bread and vegetables were super fresh, plus it had plenty of cheese, which is a big plus for me 😅. We both ordered lemon juice, just because they didn’t have passion fruit juice, haha.

The place offers a rather unique activity while you wait, something not commonly found in establishments in Barquisimeto: you can draw on sheets of paper with crayons, which is a fun and entertaining way to pass the time while waiting for food. I love drawing, and I love cats, so it’s not hard to guess what I was drawing while we waited for our food, haha. In addition, the aesthetic blends with the colonial side of Santa Rosa, and they offer a small library with books in a variety of genres. I didn’t check which ones were available, but I loved that. On sunny days, lots of light comes in, and everything looks beautiful. The music is calming and relaxing, perfect for working outside of home from the comfort of your device. As you can see, I went in December, so they had their Christmas decorations up, and the service was very pleasant.

For dessert, we both ordered two croissants filled with ice cream: mine was peanut-flavored, and Daniel's was chocolate with nuts. The texture of the croissant was perfect, soft inside with a crispy outer layer, and the creaminess of both ice creams was perfect and delicious, in my opinion. Of course, to finish, we ordered a cappuccino to check the grinder calibration. We were curious to know that they didn’t use commercial coffee. They couldn’t tell us exactly where the coffee beans were from, but it wasn’t from the Lara state... We didn’t really like the coffee, as it was under-extracted and didn’t have a very pleasant taste, but it smelled really good. The truth is, I forgot to take a good photo of it. The place is perfect for working or enjoying good company. Without a doubt, I’d return, but I’m happy to know that in Madrid, I can visit a small piece of my town đŸ«¶đŸŒ.

Thanks for reading, and I’ll be reporting on my experience at the Madrid branch soon.

It looks very nice and cosy this âžĄïž place.

That's right! The place is very beautiful, it is very quiet and ideal to spend a pleasant time

This place sounds so charming and full of character! I love the idea of drawing while waiting for food and the cozy ambiance. It’s a shame about the coffee, but the croissants and overall vibe seem to make up for it. Can't wait to hear about your experience in Madrid!

Totally, this experience is part of several adventures that I had in my city before leaving, I love going to cafes and I hope to visit one with a delicious coffee soon! Thanks for reading
