I’d like to avoid my posts turning into just a collection of random photos, but I thought it would be fun to take a picture every time I have coffee. Just like how conversations flow when people gather around coffee, maybe writing will flow the same way.
I make coffee at home too, but mostly for my husband. I usually prepare Thermos bottles containing 2 quad espresso Americanos for his night shifts. Some customers at the café order quads as well. In case you’re wondering, a “quad” means four shots of espresso, and my husband drinks two of them! That’s a serious caffeine boost.
When people think of tea or coffee, they probably picture relaxation, reading a book, enjoying a quiet morning with their spouse. That sounds lovely. But for me, coffee is mostly a work companion. I drink it while working. At the café, I make my own coffee while taste-testing espresso shots. I rarely have time to take pictures, but I’m going to keep trying because it’s fun.
This is an iced latte macchiato. It’s made with ice, frothed milk, and espresso. There are different ways to froth milk for iced drinks, but I used the steam wand to create foam. Since it’s for an iced drink, the milk isn’t heated, just aerated with steam.
At my other job, my boss makes coffee for me, which is a nice change. And he never forgets to include something sweet.
He’s been obsessed with desserts from the bakery he found, so my snacks have been quite indulgent these past two weeks. Looking back at my photos, I started worrying about my weight a bit…but I’ll just walk it off!
Sometimes, he adds a little Irish cream in my coffee as a bonus hehe.
Since February started, it’s been snowing and freezing in Vancouver, but at least the coffee keeps things warm. I’m grateful for that.

日々ブログのネタに困るので、なんでもない写真ばかりになると思いましたが、コーヒーを飲むたびに写真を撮ってみることにしました。コーヒーやビールを囲むと会話が弾むのと同じように、その時々の写真と一緒に何か記事が書けるかなと思います。
コーヒーは家でも淹れますが、ほとんど主人用です。夜勤用にクォートエスプレッソのアメリカーノを２杯分サーモスボトルに入れて出かけます。カフェのお客さんにも時々いらっしゃいますが、クォートとは一杯にエスプレッソ X ４です。を主人は2杯。カフェインてんこ盛りもいいところです。
さてさて、お茶やコーヒーと聞くとリラックスのお供のイメージでしょうか。読書をしながらとか、奥様/旦那様と朝の一時など憧れます。私の場合はもっぱら作業のお供。仕事をしながらのコーヒーです。カフェではエスプレッソの味見をしながら自分で作ります。なかなか写真を撮るタイミングがないのですが、なんとか撮ってみました。
こちらはアイスラテマキアートです。氷＋フロストミルク＋エスプレッソで出来ます。アイス用のフロストミルクの作り方は色々ありますが、こちらはスチームノズルを使って泡立てました。ただ、アイス用なのでミルクは熱しません。ミルクを泡立てるためにスチームを使うだけです。
ジョブ#1ではボス1号にコーヒーを淹れてもらいます。ちょっと気分がいいです、笑
そしてさすがドイツ人！かなりの確率で甘いものがついてきます。先週、今週と、ボス１号があるベーカリーのスイーツにハマっていて、おやつが豪華でした。
写真を振り返って少々体重が心配になりましたが、歩いて燃やす！笑
勤務中ですがおまけでアイリッシュクリームが入っていることもあります。
２月に入ってから雪が降り寒いバンクーバーですが、コーヒーの周りは暖かでした。良かったです。

Too much sweets😂
Coffee is seriously a perfect companion during work for some people. I don't really drink coffee now but seeing this made me crave for some. I miss having my morniny coffee. Anyways you have a really nice boss, coffee and sweets snacks is perfect with coffee. Ahhh, I miss the smell of coffee actually. Losing my sense of smell is seriously so sad 🙉🤧
Oh no...lost sense of smell? I hope it comes back.
Yeah, that's impossible now especially I already undergone two surgeries to removes nasal polyp in my nose. Although there are times I can still smell, but only for a short time. 🙉

Oh, so sweets but I don’t have a sweet tooth hehe. sometimes I like a small amount of sweets. Thank you for sharing your yummy sweet desserts.

I felt the sweetness just by looking into your Pictures! I am not a coffee lover but i love the aroma that i can smell just by looking at it!

The expression 'quadruple' caught my attention. Four espressos in one, it really is a powerful dose of caffeine, I had never heard of that before, I found it very curious.
The coffees and desserts you show us look really appetizing and I agree with you that there is nothing better than a delicious, hot coffee when it's really cold.

But too much sweetness makes me puke. My stomach cannot handle too much sweetness.

The coffee is perfect for it!
Quad is a very strong coffee drink. Me drinking coffee while watching videos or scrolling on social media. The dessert looks delicious and good to be partner with coffee.
I'll probably be up all night if I had quad...🤣
Yeah, 'coz it has a strong kick of caffeine. And it will be great if you have an urgent things that need to be done, asap. So that you need to wake up until all night.
