Coffee at the Museum of Making

We visited the café situated just inside the Museum of Making, which showcases Derby's history of manufacturing and industry with the added bonus of some lovely graffiti art outside. It is also free to enter which is always a bonus in my book. It had to close temporarily last October as we had local flooding in the area, and the museum experienced substantial water damage.

Just above the entrance to café is a Toyota Corolla car that looks as though it has exploded in the air. You can just see it in the background. It would cause you a major headache if it fell on your head while drinking your coffee! 😁😳

Further up the steps is a rather imposing Derby-made Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engine. It's probably the best entry to an establishment that I've ever seen. It certainly has the wow factor.

The last time I visited, I tried a turmeric latte. Even though I enjoyed it very much, my stomach didn't! I decided to play safe with an ordinary latte. So much for being experimental. The house coffee is actually roasted nearby. I do love a good mug!

We ordered veggie pie with broccoli and a beef and salad sandwich.

The cafe was excellent both for the coffee and the menu. It was good value for money and in an interesting location. I'm glad they managed to get it up and running after the floods.

As long as you don't take the "Way Out" you should be alright.
That's an amazing place to visit, and I love the coffee mug.
Hmmm, I'm not so sure about drinking a turmeric latte at a coffee shop, but I'd take the risk at home:)

Ha ha. No we didn't fall for the way out sign. 😁 I might experiment with the turmeric coffee at home like you suggest. It might be safer to do so. 😵‍💫

Amazing experience I love it...looks great!

Oh, thank you. 😊 🙏

I really like this place, that engine looks impressive and attracts the eye a lot. It seems you really enjoyed your visit to this place.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us.☕

Good day.

My pleasure. Yes, the engine was massive!

Very nice museum with spacious coffee shop. The coffee and food look very good. Turmeric is very difficult to be absorbed so we take very little amount after a big meal. It’s quite strong and potent which should be taken regularly!

I've had a bit mixed in with food but never in coffee. It tasted lovely but my stomach objected!

Oh it's great place to drink coffee ^^
Enjoy your day!

Thank you @lanido. 🙏

The museum of making looks super have such a steam punk look, the coffe looks so good too, turmeric hurt your stomach? I really enjoyed it by the way the broccoli pie looks super too❤️

I love steampunk. 🙂

The turmeric coffee tasted really nice, but perhaps it was just too much for my stomach.

Such great way to spend the day. That Toyota Corolla looks insane! Love it! 😄
Gorgeous cup of latte btw, I could almost smell the aroma 🤤

Yes, definitely insane! 😁
