On a recent trip to my local supermarket, Morrisons, I had a coffee with a friend of mine before starting my shopping.
We had to use the self-service machines to order our drinks. One good thing I noticed was that these machines were refillable allowing customers to go back as many times as they wanted for a refill. The thought of nipping back for several coffees was great!
I opted for a black coffee, while my friend chose a cappuccino. A good thing about the supermarket is that if you buy an adult meal costing over £5, your children can eat for free throughout the day. Even though, supermarket meals are usually cheap it's good they are supporting families as the price of food shopping has gone up so much. It's good the children are getting at least one good meal a day.
During our coffee break, I also noticed that the supermarket had a very family-oriented environment. In one corner, there were colouring books and crayons available for children, to keep them occupied while their parents had a break. I was even tempted to join in and colour a page myself!
On the negative side, the coffee wasn't very good. In fact, even cheap instant coffee tasted better, it was very disappointing. Sadly, I couldn’t face a refill whether it was free or not. Anyway, at least we had the option and it was a kind thought when people are struggling financially. However, my friend went back purely because she thought the coffee and milk were dispensed together from the machine. After filling her cup, she walked off only to find the milk was dispensed afterward. It wasn't until she sat down that she realised there was no milk in it so had to go for a refill. I can't take her anywhere!
I understand what you mean when you say that the coffee didn't taste good. I've had to endure horrible coffees too, and these are experiences we don't want to repeat. We don't always get what we want.
Thanks for sharing your coffee experience.☕
Excellent day.
I will choose the chocolate next time. 🙂
That does seem like a nice place for families to have a coffee and meal! :) Sorry about your coffee though - I find a lot of these supermarket machines tend to produce subpar coffee (unfortunately). And while I understand the "coffee is coffee" mentality, I can't possibly relate to it :D
No, me neither. At least it was wet. 😁
Thanks for sharing your experienced.
My pleasure. ❤️

This is a nice coffee shop with nice ambience. But that coffee machine needs an upgrade and new coffee beans!
It needs throwing through the window. 🤣
The idea of drinking coffee in a supermarket rarely crosses my mind, although it is true that there are exceptions when I have been able to do so and have enjoyed it. I like the way the space looks arranged to enjoy the coffee, although it is unfortunate that it was not good enough to repeat.
It was a pleasure to read you. Best regards 😊.
Thank you @soldierofdreams. I will stick to the cafés next time. 🙂
