Today, I want to talk about my adventure as a coffee-loving citizen.
Como dije, soy amante del café. Soy de esas personas que no pueden comenzar su día sin su taza de café. Es algo que disfruto mucho hacer.
Cada vez que me voy de vacaciones, mi actividad favorita es visitar distintas cafeterías para probar nuevos sabores y formas de preparación. Me llevé muy buenas experiencias desde que comencé a hacerlo.
Como esta vez que fui de viaje a Mar del Plata y decidí ingresar en la primer cafetería que llamó mi atención por su decoración interior en tonos pasteles.
As I said, I'm a coffee lover. I'm one of those people who can't start their day without their cup of coffee. It's something I really enjoy doing.
Every time I go on vacation, my favorite activity is to visit different coffee shops to try new flavors and brewing methods. I've had very good experiences since I started doing this.
Like this time when I went on a trip to Mar del Plata and decided to enter the first coffee shop that caught my attention because of its interior decoration in pastel tones.
Ese día optamos por comer un tostado con avocado, queso y huevo revuelto. Un sandwich de jamón crudo y queso, una medialuna de jamón y queso y una porción de torta. Una merienda completísima.
Mis amigas eligieron acompañarlo con un submarino y un cappuccino mientras que yo elegí un café con leche.
That day we opted to have a toasted sandwich with avocado, cheese, and scrambled egg. A ham and cheese sandwich, a ham and cheese croissant, and a slice of cake. A very complete snack.
My friends chose to accompany it with a hot chocolate and a cappuccino, while I chose a café au lait.
En otra oportunidad, fui a una cafetería muy famosa ubicada en el barrio de Almagro, en la ciudad de Buenos Aires. Tiene mucho renombre porque fue declarada sitio de interés cultural al ser la cafetería más antigua del barrio, tal como lo indica su servilleta: "Desde 1884".
On another occasion, I went to a very famous café located in the Almagro neighborhood in the city of Buenos Aires. It is well-known because it was declared a site of cultural interest as the oldest café in the neighborhood, as indicated by its tissue: "Since 1884".
Allí optamos por disfrutar de una rica merienda que también incluía comida dulce y salada.
Se observan masitas finas de todo tipo, porciones de torta, pan dulce y sanguchitos de miga. Mis favoritos. Además, se incluían dos tostadas con queso crema y mermelada, acompañado de un pequeño juguito. Todo en un mismo plato, para ser honesta, eso no me gustó porque se mezclaron los sabores. Pero igualmente lo comimos 😂
There we chose to enjoy a delicious snack that also included both sweet and savory food.
There were various types of fine pastries, slices of cake, sweet bread, and sanguchitos de miga. My favorites. Additionally, there were two slices of toast with cream cheese and jam, accompanied by a small juice. All on the same plate, to be honest, I didn't like that because the flavors mixed together. But we still ate it 😂.

Recientemente abrieron una nueva cafetería en mi ciudad así que decidí ir con mi amiga. Esta vez optamos por comer algo liviano y saludable pero al final nos quedamos con ganas de comer algo dulce así que terminamos pidiendo una porción de cheesecake de frutos rojos 😂
Recently, a new café opened in my city, so I decided to go with my friend. This time we opted for something light and healthy, but in the end, we still wanted something sweet, so we ended up ordering a slice of berry cheesecake 😂.
Haciendo este tipo de actividades comencé a pensar que es muy difícil encontrar un lugar en el que la cantidad de café que te sirven, sea lógico en relación a la cantidad de comida. Si vuelven hacia atrás y miran las tazas, lo van a notar. Al ser la taza tan pequeña, o tenés que tomar de a pequeños sorbos para que el café alcance o tenés que gastar en otro.
En más de una ocasión eso hizo que, si bien quedamos satisfechas, nos quedáramos con ganas de tomar café porque a eso vamos. Así que hubieron días en que pedimos la comida que nos sobró y nos fuimos a casa directo a tomar más café en un tazón enorme 🤣
Engaging in these kinds of activities made me realize how difficult it is to find a place where the amount of coffee they serve is reasonable in relation to the amount of food. If you look back at the cups, you'll notice it. With the cup being so small, you either have to take small sips to make the coffee last or you have to spend on another one. On more than one occasion, this meant that, while we were satisfied with the food, we still craved coffee because that's what we came for. So there were days when we asked for the leftover food and went straight home to have more coffee in a huge bowl 🤣.
Hace dos semanas, ya resignada a que me iba a pasar lo mismo en un lugar al que nunca había ido, quedé sorprendida porque finalmente, sin pensarlo, encontré lo que buscaba.
Café de verdad, mucho café. En un tazón, como en casa! Ese día pedimos un scon de queso, una porción de torta y un bagel de queso cheddar y huevo. Mi novia se pidió un cappuccino y yo mi amado café con leche. Por primera vez, terminé mi comida antes que el café 😍
Two weeks ago, resigned to the idea that I was going to have the same experience at a place I had never been to before, I was surprised because finally, without thinking, I found what I was looking for. Real coffee, a lot of coffee. In a bowl, just like at home! That day we ordered a cheese scone, a slice of cake, and a cheddar cheese and egg bagel. My girlfriend ordered a cappuccino, and I ordered my beloved café au lait. For the first time, I finished my meal before my coffee 😍.
Bueno amigos, espero que de ahora en más, si son amantes del café como yo, tengan esto en cuenta a la hora de salir a comer porque es muy importante poder digerir toda la comida empalagosa que pedimos 😂
Well, friends, I hope that from now on, if you are coffee lovers like me, you take this into account when going out to eat because it's very important to be able to digest all the rich but sometimes heavy food we order 😂.

The Coffee Team only reads and speaks English, and we use the PeakD function to "Listen to Post", and that function is disabled when presented in a column format or when presented with blocks of one language and then blocks of another language.

You sure like to experiment and try out new places, dont you?
If i was having just coffee, i could make do with a small cup. But if i was having it with somd snack or meal, then, I'm guilty of wanting it in a large cup/bowl, filled to the brim. I just have got to savour the taste for as long as my meal still sits in my plate😅
