Hi, yes I believe this is part of their marketing ideas. By giving free coffee with warm welcome, it helps them to build bonding and engagement with people, as well as creating awareness about how good their coffee is and the friendliness of the staff. This makes people willing to come back and recommend the place to others and I am one of those people actually hohoho.
