Option 3: New Year's coffee traditions (29_31).
Coffee is a tradition in my country and in my family. Cuban culture is also known for the quality of some products such as rum, tobacco and coffee.
Coffee has always been in my family's daily life. Drinking coffee is one of the most pleasant acts to start the day and at any time. Drinking coffee in the morning is like rushing the sunrise so that it dawns brighter, is to give it the energy our body needs to start the day.
Coffee is part of my memories since childhood, my father planted six coffee trees for my mother on the side of the country house and one of my favorite moments was to go with her to pick them and absorb the pulp of the ripe fruits.
During my life I have seen my family roast coffee, they learned from my mother and my grandmother, they like to put a pinch of sugar in the roasting process, which gives more scent and color.
I although I use modern coffee makers to strain my coffee I have a preference for the coffee that my mother strains with a strainer as we call the cloth bag already blackened by the ink impregnated by the years.
She jealously takes care of that bag because it should not be contaminated with anything, she protects it in a covered container and stores it in the refrigerator. According to my mother, nothing should touch the strainer because it can change the flavor of the coffee.
A woman pouring coffee with the pestle placed between her legs, hit by the piece of wood with a rhythmic movement, is very attractive and sensual.
The smells and flavors take us to our memories, they awaken the most hidden feelings and coffee has this magic.
Coffee is a reason to meet, friends gather around a cup of coffee, whether at home or in a public space and although there are other details on the table, the most important phrase is let's have a coffee.
Coffee goes wonderfully with cream, cinnamon, chocolate, cake, rolls, and all of this becomes part of a culture that in many countries is part of the culture.

My memories related to coffee are many, I have received as gifts: coffee makers, coffee cases of different brands, coffee beans from eastern Cuba, an area rich in the production of the fruit. Coffee will continue to be an excuse and alchemy to share with family and friends.
Like any tradition, many myths are woven around coffee: That it clouds the mind; that you should drink while sitting; that it should be drunk hot; which should not be ingested after 3 in the afternoon.
The truth is that it is one of the delicious drinks. Its scent of a new day, of life makes me happy.

Oh what I remember cute. !!!For a new year of coffee and sisterhood.
Your post is very warm and has the heart of a coffee lover, however I will only refer above all the beautiful things here, even above the luxury of drinking freshly roasted coffee, to your father's gesture: he planted six coffee trees for your mother. That is love.
May your next year be full of happy coffees.
