One day when I left work early, I found my parents walking near my house, and although my initial idea was to ask them for the keys (because that day I left mine at home) to go rest, I finally joined the walk.
It didn't take long for us to meet my brother and decide that it was a good idea to take shelter from the heat in some place. That's how we ended up in a cafe called Cofi.
The place was extremely cozy and we were served quickly. Thank God the place was air-conditioned and it turned out to be the ideal refuge for this summer day.
The menu presented us with a wide variety of coffee options, but also food and refreshing drinks. Against all odds, considering the hot day, dad and I decided on a brown coffee, with a little milk; while my brother and my mom ordered a refreshing cocktail.
After a long day I was very hungry so I ordered a toasted sandwich with ham and cheese, something very classic, but which each establishment prepares in its own way and with its personal touch. The others did not order anything to eat, but we shared the sandwich among those who wanted to try it.
The presentation of the food, coffee, and drinks were impeccable and very pretty. The cocktail looked colorful and delicious, plus the size was large. The coffees had little drawings on them, looked very neat, and I can't describe the delicious aroma.
The sandwich surprised me because of its size and because it wasn't the classic sandwich bread or crumb bread, as they usually have here in Buenos Aires. This time the bread was a loaf of country bread, a bit whole grain with wheat bran and seeds, very homemade style (I forgot to ask them if it was made by them), I can only say that I loved it.
The coffee was exquisite, very creamy and aromatic; I think it's the best one I've tried so far in any coffee shop in Buenos Aires, although to be honest I haven't visited many either.
I'm so happy to be able to spend moments like this with my family and see my parents happy now that we're all together again.
The place had a second floor and dad couldn't hold back his curiosity and so he went off to explore while we stayed making jokes about his restless and curious spirit, like that of a child preparing for a prank.
I hope you enjoyed this afternoon of coffee with my family at Cofi. Only my husband was missing, but he had to work a few more hours. I hope to have the opportunity to return soon, although there are still many places I want to visit.
