A Cup of Coffee and Friendship at Koffie Kita - Local Coffee Shop in Jambi

“Coffee is capable of producing various reactions. And he's right. Tiwus coffee has made me realize that I am the worst barista. Not only do I know a lot, try to make a philosophy out of coffee and then trade it, but worst of all, I feel like I've made the most perfect coffee in the world. (Filosofi Kopi Quotes)”

Learning of Life

The quote above is part of a conversation from a famous film in Indonesia, namely Filosofi Kopi. There is a scene, the main character who works as a barista who initially feels that he is the one who understands coffee the most, and he feels that he always makes the best coffee but he realizes after drinking kopi tiwus (Single Origin Coffee from West Java) from a local farmer and feels his enjoyment, he realized, that he was a small grain in this life and tried to remove pride from himself.

In this life, sometimes there are moments that make us arrogant, such as about knowledge. When someone gains knowledge, many people are tempted to appear arrogant with the most understanding style about all issues and there are also humans when the higher their knowledge and knowledge, the more humble they will be. I often get experience about life at the university of life, the place is called a coffee shop.

When I first learned all about coffee, I was stuck in the arrogance phase. I feel that I am the one who understands the most about coffee and also understands the taste of coffee the most in my friendships. I woke up after watching the film, and finally I decided to go on a trip and visit several coffee plantations and also coffee shops in every place I visited at that time, just like that time I visited a local coffee shop in Jambi, KoffieKita.

Koffie Kita

I arrived in Jambi, because I attended an event on forest conservation held by a non-government organization that was there. After the event, I got acquainted with several people there and our conversation continued at the KoffieKita Coffee Shop. Koffiekita is one of the first manual brew coffee shops in Jambi. At that time, many people did not understand about serving coffee with manual brew or espresso machines, especially in Jambi, which is still a small city in Indonesia.

I visited this coffee shop at the end of 2016, when the coffee industry in Indonesia began to enter the Third Wave Coffee era. Third Wave Cave is marked by the interest of coffee drinkers to coffee itself. Coffee drinkers want to know the origin of coffee beans, the processing, and also how to brew the coffee until it enters the throat. The bad impact of the Thrid Wave Coffee Era is the stamping or reaction to coffee that tastes bad, non-standard brewing, and is anti-instant coffee.

KoffieKita has an open bar concept, where everyone can see the brewing process and the coffee beans used that day. Visitors to this coffee shop can easily find out where a coffee bean comes from, how it is processed and what it will be brewed with. This coffee shop is not only a place to enjoy coffee but also a place for education about coffee. We were allowed to make coffee and brew our own coffee that we would drink.

Coffee and Friend

The coffee we drank tasted very good, either because of the special coffee or the intimate atmosphere that existed at that time. If we meet new friends, a cup of coffee serves as a liaison between people who come from different places, coffee makes the atmosphere of friendship more intimate and warm.

We believe that everyone has their own way of interpreting the right time and atmosphere for quality coffee. Like enjoying a sip of coffee with relatives or colleagues is another way to enjoy quality moments. Coffee has become a lifestyle, from young to old, its bitter taste has its own pleasure and meaning.

That's an awesome cafe! It's cool that they have an "open bar" for coffee brewing and the lights make the coffee look more dramatic (or is it just your photography?) ☕️

Awesomw post 🙌
There's so much truth about what you've mentioned there.
I hate encounters with persons of such nature; However, I came to terms with the fact that I cannot change people's tendency to act like experts and kwow it all about everything, so instead I developed my ability to recognise such, and improve my senses to tune them out immediately. This works wonderfully for me!Hello @isdarmady,

I love the photos, and from the presentation of your coffee posts, I can feel the passion and pride you have in boing a coffee connoisseur :)

Thank you for appriciate @millycf1976

You're right, people's traits and habits are difficult to change, it's better if we adapt to deal with situations like that.

I also like this photo, there are many memories and friendships every time I see it
