Today has been one of those days I would like to forget. From the moment I woke up, everything seemed to go wrong. Although I tried to keep a positive attitude, things only got worse as the day progressed. But in the end, a simple act of kindness reminded me that even on the darkest of days, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. And that light for me, turned out to be a hot cup of coffee.
It started with an alarm clock that didn't go off. I woke up 45 minutes late, which meant I had to jump out of bed and start running to get to work on time. Of course, there was nothing for breakfast in the house, so I had to leave without eating. I ran out of the house and went to my car, only to find that I had locked my keys inside. There was no one at home to let me in, so I had to call a locksmith and wait an hour before I could get in and get my car keys.
Finally, I got to work, only to find that my boss was waiting for my final sales report, which I was supposed to have turned in the night before. I completely forgot, and now I had to spend all day working on the report to deliver it to my boss before he went on vacation for two weeks.
I spent all day working on my report, and when I finally finished it and turned it in to my boss, I realized that I had forgotten my lunch at home. I felt dejected, tired and hungry, so I decided to take a break and go out for lunch at a nearby cafe. I thought some fresh air and a nice hot coffee would lift my spirits.

I walked into the cafe, ordered a coffee and a grilled chicken sandwich, and found a table in the corner. But when my food arrived, I discovered that they had mixed up my order with someone else's and had given me a vegetarian sandwich instead of the chicken sandwich. I was too hungry to send it back, so I decided to eat it anyway, even though I don't like vegetarian sandwiches.
As I was eating my sandwich, I realized that I had lost my wallet somewhere along the way. I searched my pockets and my backpack, but there was no sign of it. I knew I had to have lost it at some point during my crazy day, but I couldn't remember exactly when or where. I felt dejected and stressed, not knowing how I was going to pay for my lunch or get home without my ID or money.
Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, I got a call from my boss. There was an error on my sales report, and I would have to rework it over the weekend. I was so frustrated and overwhelmed that I started crying. I felt so ashamed of my emotional reaction, but I just couldn't control it. Coffee had become my only solace on that disastrous day, and after I finished eating, I ordered another cup and continued to sit at the table, trying to recover from my emotions.
It was then that a woman approached me and asked me if I was okay. I was surprised by her kindness, and I told her that I had had a really difficult day. She asked if I needed help with anything, and I told her about my missing wallet and my sales report that I had to get back to over the weekend. She listened attentively, and then offered to buy my coffee and lunch. I was surprised by her generosity, and told her I couldn't accept it, but she insisted that she wanted to help in some way.

After some thought, I decided I could use her help. Grateful, I accepted her offer and told her I was indebted to her. She smiled and told me that she just wanted to help make my day a little better. As we talked, I noticed that she had left her purse on the chair next to her. I noticed that it looked a little bulky, and she noticed my curious look. With a smile, she opened her bag and pulled out a notepad and pencil, and asked me if I was ready to get back to work on my sales report.
I was impressed by her ability to read my mind, and thanked her for her help. Together, we worked on my report for a couple of hours, and she gave me some tips and suggestions that really improved my work. Finally, when we finished, I thanked her for her help and told her that she had saved my day. I asked her name, and she told me her name was Sarah. I asked if I could pay her for her help, but she insisted that I didn't and told me she just wanted to help.
Before we said goodbye, Sarah told me there was something else she could do to help me get my day back on track. She took me to the counter and bought me a package of high-quality coffee beans, and told me that, every time I drank it, to remember that even on the most difficult days, there is always someone who cares and is willing to help. I walked home that night with a little more respect for the power of a simple act of kindness, and a renewed sense of hope in the world. I remembered that, even on the darkest of days, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, and that light can come in the form of a good coffee and a kind and generous person willing to help.
Wow, Sarah sure is an angel in this story! Even after buying lunch, and helping with the workload, she was still willing to do another kindness for a stranger when asked. If the world were filled with Sarahs, I think we would all be in great shape! Thanks for sharing your tale :)
Haha that's true, we need a lot of Sarah in our life, it would change the world and fill us with a lot of coffee.
Nice story my friend. A good reminder about the power of kindness.
I'm glad you saw the story that way, I was pleased with your comment.
To find human beings full of kindness and willing to support after such a scary day is a real treasure. ! Excellent creation!
