Different ways of making espresso coffee

In a coffee shop time is everything when you have to make a coffee . There has been a lot of innovative and new ways as well to make coffee. Let us brake this down and start with the espresso. You now have bean to cup options like the machines start bucks have where there is no need for tampering or dosing your coffee , it Fast quick and easy . The only thing you have to do is place you cup and froth your milk and pour it in to the cup .

Then you get your espresso pods which is a home use . You have a pod machine where you can place a coffee pod of your choice and let it the pod machine do the work for you , there is no need for tampering or getting coffee beans or fixing grind size to match the coffee for a perfect espresso pour . These home uses are used really mostly for home as it offers a quick solution for the consumers.

Then you have you Manuel Coffee machines like the “Flair” which require you to make sure the grind size is perfect and the dosage and as well as the pressure you pour your espresso shot .The flair has become a very special type of way of making espresso and takes a lot of work in order to get a good accurate espresso out of . You would mostly use these for home or a novelty type pieces to make your coffees with. I would not use this really much at a shop or at home when I save a bit more and pick up a good home machine that does not take much work . Along with the flair your as well have an airopress which kind of works similar but cheaper then the flair .

Then you have your coffee machine that are commonly used in most coffee shop which requires you to get proper beans , sort out it’s grind size for that perfect espresso . Obviously these machine take a bit of work as you do need to set them up with a water supply and a good power supply. Depending on the group size which will account for the weigh and the size of the machine . These machine do come with standard equipment but if your a barista and know home to make the machine use it’s full potential then you will know the few stuff just to make the machine better like shower heads and as well adjusting water flow and the pressure gauge to your liking . You will need a lot of preparation tools like tampers , OCD leveler , a scale , and as well a really good espresso grinder .

Lastly you have you home machines which are way cheaper then proper espresso machines . These machine are used for your home use. I know there are really expensive once that do make good espresso at home. But the ones I am talking about is cheaper once that have a lever by the portifilter that keep your puck in there . Can you make good espresso with it you may ask ? Not really, I feel you will have to save a bit more . These machines are good for introduction, but not for professional use . They are very basic and tend to give a bit of trouble when pouring shots . Yes some may look like they pour great espresso because of the creamer on the shot but ... that is mostly due to the equipment having a small filtration which squeezes it out . It May Look Good But Will It taste Good?

For a home use espresso machine try out the Gaggia espresso machine or a breville . Be sure to tell me if there is any good home machines you would suggest ?

LoadShedding

Seems like loadshedding has been in effect in our area , which is possibly pretty annoying . Now you might want to know what loadshedding is , it is when you have to go with out power for a couple of hours a day. This is not because we do not pay for electricity it is mostly because our electric distributor is incapable of keeping an active flow of electricity . It sucks a bit because each business has to make sure they have a generator to ensure that power runs during these loadshedding times , which is more expenses . Something so basic that needs to be provided that helps the economy grow and is used in each daily aspect of daily life is unable to be provided to us . It bugs me out that we have such a beautiful country “ South Africa “ has such issues . It is currently 2 hour 30 minutes a day , and who knows it could be extended ..

On the coffee coffee shop side of keeping the coffee shop going through loadshedding hours, I do have a gas burner so foods can still be served . Though coffees , I do want to get a gas converted coffee machine . It is currently a big high demand here , due to the low costs of running gas . But for now I am probably going to look at getting a converter just for the coffee machine . This is something every business here in South Africa has to look at before opening unfortunately, that is they still want to keep running through the loadshedding hours .
