The coffee shop blog 27 “ fruits and coffee”

Hi everyone, I hope you had a great week and ready for the weekend!!

Coffee and fruity flavours is something I have been exploring and trying out. I have been using Puree sauces to see how the combination of different types of fruit has been tasting with coffee, some tastes are a bit unbearable and some taste require an acquired taste.

One flavour that seems to go well is blueberry, I have tried strawberry and passion fruit. Which had an absolutely horrible taste to it. I think what made those flavours even worse was the after taste. The passion at first sip was ok but it had a rich taste to it which just made it a bit off putting.

With the blueberry tasted pleasant, not pleasant enough to place on the menu. But pleasant enough for an experience. I know I think a bit way out of the box for different coffee combinations. I would assume a lot of the flavouring is with the coffee at use like origin and roast and as well as the Puree that is being used. I had used a Monin brand Puree by the way for this.

For the fruit flavoured coffee drink I made it like an ice latte.
I start with three pumps of blueberry sauce in the milk which I mixed together to create a beautiful milk colour. Next I added the coffee on top and add popping bubbles. The bobbing bubbles are mixed-berry flavoured which cafe it a pretty nice look for presentation.

The popping bubbles give that extra sweetness to the drink as well. The balls are pretty cool they filled with a sauce so when you bit in to them , you get a really nice taste to it.

The taste is very interesting and does go well. One bad thing about it is a slight after taste. The after taste reminded me of Hooka tobacco essence. I am not sure if you have smelt hooka flavoured tobacco but that is the taste it gives off. A bit of a tobacco flavoured after taste. It isn’t so harsh but it is slightly there lingering on the pallet.

The Puree flavoured actually go very well with the teas. My ice teas consist of rooibos which does as well have a distinctive taste. But the combination of Strawberry or any fruity flavours compliments it well.

Maybe I am thinking out of the Box abit when it come to coffee and fruit . Though it is worth the try !! If you do perhaps know of any good Puree brands that go well with coffee or even fruit flavours be sure to write them down in the comments !!

Thank you for reading everyone ! Have a pleasant day and stay caffeinated!

I haven't tried many drinks like that but they do look really delicious. I can imagine that those flavor co.binations would go well together.

oooh fruits in coffee! 😃 never thought about the combination of blueberries before, strawberries are a surprising addition too, have you tried cherries? maybe a sort of black forest cake aftertaste to it? 😄 thank you for sharing about this!

I'm not surprised.

Haha! It's not for me really. However, lemon with black coffee is quite refreshing 👍
