Whenever he suggests making my coffee alongside his I always reply with a big NO because I’d get tired of waiting for him to do his cleaning ritual.
For people like him, you will just be watching them do their thing and if you happen to share coffee with them and they help you prepare it, you will have to wait till eternity 😆😆 and by then, the interest isn't there anymore. Your boss just wants to be extra sure and careful not to drink dirt. Lol
