☕ Hello Hello My dear Coffee Lovers ☕
Happy to be back once more celebrating our beloved coffee. I don't know if it is because I ate some chocolate-covered coffee beans earlier this evening (sorry, no pictures) or just the fact that I love coffee so much, but, I have done the cutest thing today with coffee!
And I promise that when you look at what I bring an instant smile will pop up on your face and will want to try this out. Look!
Yes, those are cookies shaped like a Coffee Bean! And they taste like coffee also because there's coffee in them. Let's go over the recipe, shall we?
Instant Coffee.
The recipe I got from YouTube and it's quite easy and quick, there's just one thing, you need instant coffee. For most people, it is quite convenient the use of instant coffee, so much, that is a common purchase in many households. Sadly that's not my case, although I enjoy instant coffee as much as the next person, especially good quality ones, it is too expensive over here and I cannot afford it just yet, so, what to do?
Fortunately, there's a solution for every problem and this is not an exception, all I did was a very hardcore brew, and I got a very strong 15 milliliters of espresso-like coffee. The color was very light but trust me, it was very very strong, but still, I added a teaspoon of ground coffee to the dry ingredients.
Also, the recipe requires for the milk to dissolve the coffee, but since I was not using instant and couldn't brew regular coffee with milk, I used powder milk in the dry ingredients.
The Shape.
Another easy step. In the recipe, the girl making the cookies did so many steps for me to count. I'm a very patient woman but I cannot be that perfectionist, I mean, this girl even weighted each dollop of dough! My God!
Anyways, you have to make little oval balls out of dough and then, put a butter knife in the middle as if you are going to cut them in half. That alone is enough to ensure that signature line each coffee bean naturally has.
After that, you only have to wait for them to be cooked and ready to enjoy them. Now I'll leave you the recipe, modified by me, and also the YouTube video for the original recipe.
Ingredients:
15 milliliters of espresso coffee.
100grms of unsalted butter.
90grms of caster sugar.
1 Egg Yolk.
155grms Cake Flour.
30grms Cocoa Powder.
30grms Corn Starch.
1 Tablespoon of Powder Whole Milk.
1 Teaspoon of ground Coffee.
Layout
Procedure:
First, you want to make your coffee. Take at least 50 milliliters of boiling water and brew 2 tablespoons of ground coffee. Make it slow so the water takes out all of the flavors from the coffee.
While that cools off, cream your butter with the sugar. The butter must be at room temperature for it to cream easily. When you have a very smooth cream, add the egg yolk and mix it well, delicately but well.
At this point, add the cooled coffee and then the dry ingredients. You should get firm cookie dough, one that doesn't stick to your hands and is easily shaped. Rest it if you want, if not, keep reading.
Now, I eyeballed each dough ball and rolled them in my hands until I got a somewhat oval shape.
So cute little ball of dough.
When they were all done, my sister did the middle line with a small kitchen knife and they went to a preheated oven at 220Cº for 20 minutes.
Be careful using a knife!
Don't they look yummy?
The result was a soft, fragrant, and very tasty cookie.
To accompany them, I foamed some Whole Milk and made a Latte for my mom, a small size latte.
I said it was a small latte!
Here's the YouTube Video where I got the recipe!
