I think a lot of people can agree coffee makes mornings better, but one way coffee makes mornings better times 5 for me, is while I’m writing.
I’m a writer, and I’ve written quite a number of stories and books. My very first novel, ‘Shook', is uploaded in parts on Hive, (which you can see here). A big part of me writing that novel was getting up at 5, maybe 6am, when the sky is still dark and the neighborhood is silent. It was me, my computer, and a cup of coffee.
I’ve heard everywhere, from YouTube videos to blogs to friends when I see them that coffee improves focus, and for me, that’s true. A good cup of black coffee kept me right in the zone, I could see my story as if a movie was playing in my head, and it was my job to write a transcript of the events, word for word, action for action.
My writing was enhanced by coffee, and I enjoyed every blissful sip. I’m proud to say that the novel is finished, and I can still remember all the early mornings I spent working on it.
And yes, it has to be a cup of black coffee. Creamer doesn’t taste or feel the same, and a pastry might ruin the experience (at least for me). Only some honey seems to keep the same effect, since I still have the earthiness of black coffee with a twinge of sweetness.

It doesn’t matter what spot at the table I pick, I just have to be at the table at the crack of dawn with a cup of plain or honey black coffee and I’m in my zone, ready to write a novel, short story, or whatever I’m working on at the moment.
