Since the Dutch colonial era until now, there have been at least two coffee production centers in Aceh, namely Ulee Kareng and the Gayo Highlands. Ulee Kareng coffee which belongs to the type of Robusta coffee is produced from Ulee Kareng District. Banda Aceh. Meanwhile, Gayo coffee, which is a type of Arabica coffee in the world market, belongs to the premium coffee class. These two types of coffee make Aceh proud as one of the best coffee producers in the country, which dominates 40% of the domestic market.
Long before the spread of modern coffee shops, drinking coffee has actually become a lifestyle for Indonesian people, especially Aceh. The tradition of drinking coffee in the archipelago can be done in the morning during free time, during the day, even into the night. In recent years, the habit of hanging out in coffee shops has become increasingly popular. Coffee shops are now present in an attractive design concept. Instagramable if millennials say.
But even so, drinking coffee typical of the countryside at the village shop always feels good. Well, the coffee I drink is Milk Coffee which is served in a bigger glass. When drinking coffee at the village shop, we will mingle with the village community.
We will study the customs of society. Usually the discussions that take place at the village shop are about daily work. There are people who work as rice farmers, planters and others. We can also learn culture and customs from parents and local residents.
