Spill The Beans Prompt: May we never miss that first coffee.

Good morning coffee community, @cinnccf. Happy Halloween too.

In Venezuela we have an electrical emergency, the power goes out up to three or four times a day. We have lost equipment and our work and everything that comes with computer tasks is delayed. But I've arrived here in time and when I read the topic, I couldn't let it pass because there are several important things I must express.

There was a time when the economic crisis in Venezuela took a very drastic turn, one of the most important was that products could not be obtained; the shortage resulted in the few items we had access to, their price was excessively high. So at that time we all had to compete with those two great giants: shortages and speculation.

Although I am not excessively assiduous on social networks, I usually review and publish some things, especially in relation to my work. Well, I remember that back then, on Twitter, now X, there were always people saying that the only thing they asked for was not to run out of coffee… not to get up without being able to drink that coffee that awakened the soul more than the body. At that time, there were two stories, among many, that really struck me:

-A single mother with her daughter with the last $20 who, facing the dilemma of running out of money, bought yellow cheese… and coffee, depriving herself of other items that were more urgent at that moment.

-A man from Caracas, who wrote…what happened I never thought would happen, I don't have coffee… I remember that I answered him: _if you lived nearby, I would give you mine_.

And yes… I have also had to wake up without having coffee. Of course, it has been very, very few times. It was during that time of crisis and during the Covid-19 pandemic. When I realized that catastrophic fact, I remembered that phrase…what I never thought would happen happened, I don't have coffee. However, I don't remember exactly the circumstances surrounding running out of coffee, because I have avoided it many times: I go out at the last minute to buy it, I ask someone in my family, I stop buying other things to take coffee...

Sometimes we don't realize that the most everyday things are the ones that become so integral to us that they form part of the meaning we give to our days. So, today's topic couldn't be better stated:

How did that affect your day?, because not drinking coffee doesn't affect one morning. It affects the whole day. It affects my whole day.

The days when I couldn't drink coffee in the morning, when I got up, and I could drink it later in the day, it wasn't the same. It's important to mention that. Because when you get used to having coffee as the first thing you drink, the impact on your brain, body and mood...the magic...happens in that first moment. By not having that supply of coffee, you're not the same anymore. And although drinking it later is better than not drinking it, you don't see life the same. It's like a light sleep won't leave you, your brain becomes slow, your ordinary mood knows that something is missing to balance the day.

So I just hope I can wake up again in the morning to correct the mistake: wake up the day with a steaming, aromatic and generous cup of black coffee, without sugar and very hot.

Certainly each person is different. So by virtue of this difference I can tell you that when I remember the experience of days without coffee; I take care that it does not happen to me again. I do not wait for the one I am using to finish, when I have half left, I buy another one and when my budget allows it, I buy several, to be more calm...because my son is a very good coffee drinker. So we are both very aware of that.

…As always, it is very comforting to share these coffee stories with the community.

✌️💯☕

The fact that the economic crisis is affecting our lifestyle is totally distressing, in addition to the impotence that it generates because it does not depend on us.

I really liked your Halloween mug.🎃

Happy halloween!👻

Thank you @rinconpoetico7
We, Venezuelans, have changed in many aspects.
