Oh I found the pic to illustrate the story. I have mates who live on the canals in UK and in 2020 lockdown I lived on a mates dutch barge for a week. It was pretty cool as officially we weren't meant to be there but we were itinerant and under the radar. The whole canal was quiet as a lot of people moved off for lockdown and there was no tourism or boats moving, everyone moored up for duration. Magical. Had we stayed there at any other time it would have been chaos. It was just the best. So lucky. Actually the boat was a mate of a mates, they had moved with their kids onto land and were selling it.
