I know of some people who say that even their salaries are significantly lower than those of their friends who work in other places, they still like their job due to the free meals, accommodation, travel, equipment, and many paid leaves, where they almost don't have to spend their own salary to perform their job. 🤔🤓 !LOL !CTP

That's something different... In my opinion they don't earn "significantly lower" salaries. The benefits you're calling are part of their salary. And a very nice part, like in tax free in most of the cases.... !LUV !CTP

I think that in general, free things that come with an employee's salary aren't part of their salary, since the employee can decline meals (to eat their own food), accommodation (if they want to go home everyday especially if it is near the workplace), travel (if they want to use their own car, or bicycle which does not require fuel), or equipment (if they want to use their own equipment instead of the company-provided ones) which won't necessarily be reimbursed as salary if declined. 🤓 Although that might not sound great for the employer who might just want to provide convenience at no additional cost to the employees. 😅 !LUV !CTP

I see your point but I don't see it that way myself. I see it more like tax free parts of the salary and I've always been very happy with them personally. !LUV !CTP

It's indeed better to hear "your salary is $2,000 per month but you have many additional benefits such as free food, accommodation, and transportation" than "your salary is $3,000 per month but you have to pay for your own food and your own place to stay outside working hours". 🤔🧘‍♂️🤓 !LUV !CTP

Yes indeed, I feel like this as well. And I always think about what I'm throwing away to taxes. In your example: on the 1000 USD difference in your example I'm paying huge taxes and if it goes to freeo food, accommodation and transportation I don't. !LUV !CTP
