Well, I’m more of a coffee person, so when you mention “tea,” I’m probably thinking about coffee instead—though, I do get the reference to gossip. Anyway, whether it's coffee or gossip, I guess both are interesting in their own way, right? As a coffee lover, going to a café is always a win for me. So, after class one day, with no plans in mind, we just decided to head to Cafe Mimi—and I’m so glad we did! If you're near Looc, Danao City, it’s pretty easy to find this place.
Cafe Mimi is located at Quarry, Central Nautical Highway in Danao City, Cebu. It’s right beside Coco Beach, so you’ll spot it pretty quickly once you’re near the beach. They’re open from 10 AM to 8 PM daily, except Wednesdays when they’re closed. Getting there is easy too! You can take a jeepney or a tricycle to the café. If you’re heading north, it’ll be on your right. If you’re going south, just look to your left. Plus, the café’s location is right by the beach, so after you grab your coffee, you can head to the back of the shop to chill by the water with your friends or loved ones.
Now, the vibe at Cafe Mimi is very chill. They have a minimalist design that really adds to the calming, cool atmosphere. Even though it’s right by the main road, it’s surprisingly quiet. Honestly, what I love most about the café—aside from their great coffee and sweet drinks—is the cute little things they have around the place. If you’re into cute collectibles, you’ll love it here. They have these tiny Sonny Angels on display—these little dolls that are so adorable, you can’t help but keep looking at them while you sip your drink. They're small and cute, and honestly, they just add to the charm of the place. Though, I should mention that their collection is limited to Sonny Angels only. But even so, it still makes the place look so nice and fun.
I went there with some of my close friends, mostly to hang out and chat (and, you know, spill the tea). But we ended up loving the place way more than we expected. We took a lot of pictures because the vibe was just right—no one else was around, so it felt like we had the place to ourselves.
We ordered their best-selling coffees, pies, and french fries to go along with our endless chatting. The menu doesn’t disappoint, and the prices are really reasonable—perfect for students like us who are on a budget but still want a nice place to relax.
The staff at Cafe Mimi are calm and professional, doing their work quietly and not getting distracted by other things. Honestly, at first, we felt a bit awkward because the atmosphere was so peaceful, and we were talking loudly, sharing all kinds of gossip. But it turned out to be a great place for just relaxing, unwinding, or even studying. It’s quiet enough that you can really focus, or just let your mind wander.
The café itself is pretty small, with only three tables inside, so it can get a bit cramped. But don't worry too much, because they have more tables outside. I’d say the inside is better though—it’s air-conditioned, and the design is so aesthetic and picturesque. The vibe inside is just perfect for a quiet, cozy time with your friends or to catch up on some gossip.
If you're looking for a spot to unwind, sip some great coffee, and spill the tea, Cafe Mimi is the place to be. It’s not just about the coffee—it’s about the whole experience, from the cozy vibe to the cute collectibles, and the chance to relax by the beach. It's nice to hang out with friends and enjoy each moment. Sipping the flavorful tea or coffee while chitchatting with the goals and dreams made our life fun. I am happy you gotta spend with your friends as well.
Hanging out with friends helped me get through hardships, so if I have time I would love going out with them.
