In the various areas of Manikganj, the materials made by bamboo cane artists were once very appreciated. But now there are no good bamboo cane artists.
Bamboo and cane artists mixed the sweetness of the heart with the touch of their hands, making various kinds of fine things like dhamma, dola, chair, wrap, tuna, khalai, chalun, kula, jhapa, palo, etc., and made a living in various hats and markets in the district. They used to make a lot of money by selling all these goods in the surrounding districts and upazilas to meet the needs of the area. And all year long spent with happiness. The majority of those employed in Ephesus are from the Manisi community. The merchants used to build and sell bamboo products and run their families. But now is the big day of industry.
Due to the lack of proper marketing system for the production of essential commodities, lack of capital, the traditional bamboo industry in the district is on the verge of extinction. As a result, hundreds of families belonging to the industry are now in financial crisis. Unemployment is also increasing along with the abolition of the traditional traditional art of the rural village of Bengal.

Khudiram Mani of Mitra village of Sadar Upazila said, I have come to the fair with various items made at the cost of Tk. But there is no buyer. Three years ago, I sold three, four thousand rupees at this fair. Many times I would get annoyed with the fear of the buyers. But now the complete opposite. For this reason, he said, in the past, people used bamboo cane to make hats. Don't use them anymore. Instead of tan, use plastic, polythene bags. Due to which, the value of bamboo made has decreased.
