Behind the Curtain: Our Journey Through the Spotlight - A Theater Performance Recap

Hi, Hivers, it's me again today, and I'm going to share our experience and behind-the-scenes stories from our theater performance at our school! 🎭🍿

Let's first welcome our actors: Virly (as Kikay), Keith Allen (as Tony), Chris Rhandel (as Totoy), Marlyn (as Aling Atang), and Mikay (as Nena). They were selected as the actors because we think they are fit for the rules. By the way, the act they're going to do is "NEW YORKER IN TONDO." The story of this act is that a girl named Kikay lived in a tondo and had a chance to go to New York in 3 months, but when she returned to the tondo, she changed.

This is the time that we took a photoshoot of our cast to spread some flyers and tarps in our school to promote our show. We also have a page where we post our thriller to encourage students to watch our show (this is for our grades, by the way).

We also sell tickets for only 10 pesos for non-VIP and 20 pesos for VIP with free popcorn. We have four shows from 1:00 to 5:00, and we are sold out! 🥹💗💗

This is for our contemporary subject. Our teacher assigned our classmate Edreyan to be our director for this show, and he will pick an assistant for this show to be perfect. I've been picked as one of the makeup artists for the cast since I know how to do makeup.

It was fun. And by the way, our teacher said that this performance is going to have an award because the other stem strand is going to be in the show, and our subject teacher is going to invite some teachers to judge the two sections (which are our section and the other stem strand), and they are going to pick the best director, the best female actor, the best male actor, and the best supporting actor.

We prepare everything, from backdrops, chairs, furniture, and everything else. We also prepare the chairs for the guests to sit on and enjoy the show.
The room is so full already, the actors at the back are getting nervous, and our assistants are also nervous, but even though we're nervous, our cast performed well, and the guests really enjoyed the show. The room is filled with laughter. Watching them enjoy our show makes us flutter because we achieve our goal, which is to make the audience enjoy it.

This part is so intense, as you can see from the actor's face. From what I've observed, the audience really loves this part. There're some parts where we can really tell that the audience can relate to the story based on their reactions.
Let's take a moment to thank our propsmen for their patience, especially those who hold the door for each show. We can feel their hands shaking and sweaty armpits HAHAHAHAHHA. We also appreciate our musical director's focus on timing the music 💗💗.

Here's our entrance, where we're going to collect the tickets. The line is so busy at this moment, and big thanks to our ticket collector and our 'guard' for helping to make the audience feel welcome. We also sell some popcorn and juice for non-VIPs who want to eat some snacks while enjoying the show.🍿

The room is always full, and the others who don't have reserve tickets are really willing to pay even though we don't have enough chairs to sit. They said it's okay to stand because they're really curious about the show🥹, soyeah,h all our shows are soldout, andt even though we're all tired of standing, it's all worth it. Watching our show is successful.

After we finished all of our shows, it was time for awards. We won for best female actor, and we got another award, but I can't remember what it was. But yeah, we are happy for the outcomes because, after all, we know that we did our best and it paid off. We are so proud of our director because he really did his best to make our show successful, even though he doubted himself to have the rule as director, but still, he really did good!! 💗 Then we tooka lott of pictures together with thecrew inw remembranceofr this wonderful experience

To congratulate everyone, we decided to eat barbeque together with the cast and all the people behind the successful performance. It was a treat for ourselves; the money that we pay for our food is from our tickets that we sell in the school. We had a great time bonding with friends and making memories with them. To finish the night, we shared goodbyes to everyone and also thanked everyone, and we all went home and took a rest because we were all tired and had a long day (it was a great experience!!!!🎉).)
