Today, I decided to break away from my routine of always staying indoors. 90% of the time, I'm sitting on my desk, on the couch, or just lying on my bed. My steps couldn't even reach 5,000, or half the daily minimum requirement.
There's this jogging place nearby our house I've frequented during pandemic. It's a huge vacant lot at the back of a church. Many people come here to jog or play football.
Since I started working at my new corporate job, I haven't been back here. This was my safe haven during the pandemic, the only place I could go to aside from the grocery. During those times, I was also fighting a different battle, more like a mental one. I just graduated from college and was jobless waiting for the board exam. It's like starting a new life but not the kind that I wanted. So when I'm about to go insane, I take a walk in this place, listen to my playlist and take in all the luscious green scenery.
Visiting this place again after two years feels euphoric and nostalgic. I realized that in two years, a lot has changed. My thoughts are completely different now, so are my problems. Even the music I listened to is different. And with this thought, I feel humbled. I once dreamt of being in the position I have now. It may not be exactly what I wanted, but I know I'm getting there.
Just like this ground, nature will always find a way to show up, wherever we may be. So I won't question things anymore. It is what it is.
I forgot to mention, they also have a tennis court in here, but I haven't tried playing though.
I waited for sunset but unfortunately, the clouds were too dark. Regardless, I had a meaningful walk today. I hope you had a restful Sunday as well.
