While we did have some warm weather that melted all the residual winter snow and were just starting to see some flowers coming up, Mother Nature decided to remind us that winter is not quite over here.
Just barely cold enough for it to freeze, but we are getting some snow today that is trying hard to stick to the grass. I had hoped for nicer weather to get out and fly the drone or take the camera out. I'll have to settle for a nice Sublime Sunday of relaxing by the fire and snapping a few phone pics from the porch. Not sure if you can tell from the pics, but these flakes today are some of the biggest I've ever seen many over a quarter size and some like a 50 cent piece floating down.

The snowflakes do look very big indeed! I haven't seen them that big in Austria. It looks beautiful tho!
I think some of the largest I've seen in person. Very beautiful coming down. Now already warmed up a few degrees and starting to melt off again.
Everything is bigger in the US... :)

She loves the snow. It's funny as it was melting off she would run 100 feet across the yard to lay on top of a 3 foot snow section lol.. The Raven's were pretty quiet this am. I'm still going to get some pics of them or get the drone over them if the weather breaks. That one grunter/croaker is the strangest thing I've ever heard, may take me a bit, but I'll get some sound bytes and pics..
Female crows make a sort of honking sound while they are on the nest to get the men to bring them food. I wonder if that's what your ravens are doing.
Your dog sounds cute with her snow. My dog loves snow if it's not where he lives. Otherwise it's like hot lava, but cold.
Ahh, I'll bet that's it. definitely a honking/grunting sound and I'm thinking there is a next up there given the frequency of morning/night visits. Still working to get some sound bytes or pics. Almost had a pic today, one on top of a tall pine tree, too far for cellphone, but then was gone once I got back out with the real camera.
Ooooooo can't wait to see. If you use the drone be careful and keep distance. They aren't afraid to take them down.
Oh yes, exactly why I got the super zoom model.. I prefer to not bother the wildlife, but also to not lose my expensive drones! These machines no match for an angry crow (or raven)!
Wonderful photos! We in Romania have barely escaped the snow, but we certainly miss it in the summer.
Miss the snow in summer? Not me! I am looking forward to the snowless spring with green grass and trees, then the colorful fall which is my favorite here. Winter is good too, but 4-5 months of snow is enough!
