I know there are some old car lovers on Hive. I don't know if I should tag those people, I don't want to impose anything. But, if Dahpilot happens to open this post, I expect him to give us a good lesson on these cars because my knowledge of them is next to nothing. Oh, I also know a couple who own one of these (the Polski Fiat) and they've been on Hive since recently. Well, I will leave it to fate, whether Eddyss and Mdrguez will see this post or not. They see their car every day, so maybe it would not be interesting to see another of these cars in a post.
However, I am also thinking about one Hiver from a Kingdom without Limits, Hallmann, who also likes classic cars. At least I think he does. In one of his posts, we shifted from a new Porsche to an old Opel, there I came to the conclusion these old cars I started to see on the streets of my little town a bit more than a month ago would have to come in a post. Maybe as a collection of old cars, but it doesn't count as I am not the owner of these vehicles.
The inspiration for bringing these cars exactly today came with this yellow Citroën, parked in front of the restaurant where we had lunch with our dear friends. My best friend came and we had a very needed and proper laughter therapy. It was a fuel for our souls. And look, this yellow Citroën 2 CV also waited for something...? The fuel cap was open! How strange!
The car I saw today was not in its best condition. It was relatively fine, but I already saw better examples of this model of Citroën. Like this red one:
We saw it at the end of October (actually October 22) and it was also Sunday. Should I conclude that Citroën owners drive their old cars just on Sundays?
I am not joking with this thing... as I saw the next one, this blue Citroën also on one Sunday. One week earlier than the red Citroën. We are going back in time, October 15 was the date for this oldie.
And we can keep on going back in time. Guess what? Just one week earlier, so October 8, Sunday. The date I saw this Polski Fiat 126! This is getting serious. Why do I see old cars just on Sundays? At least, it was not in Spain, but in Poland, in Krakow!
That Sunday morning we were about to meet Edje and have coffee together. Ph1102 and I got ready and went for a little walk before meeting up with our friend and that's when we saw this cute Polski Fiat 126.
Just for the record - my sister had one of these, painted purple.
Coming back to Spain, and changing the direction of this time travelling. Let's fast forward a few weeks.
Keeping up the tradition of seeing old cars on this day, I still have an ace up my sleeve. Although not as interesting and beautiful as those previously shown, this Renault 4 also deserved to arrive. After all, it meets the condition of being seen on Sunday! 😂
We saw it on October 29 while going to walk by the seashore. I think it was abandoned to its fate as I kept seeing it in the same place for several weeks. Today, it was not there anymore.
With the hope that its owner took it home, I finish this post here.
And I also hope to continue with this tradition of seeing old cars on Sundays! Although, I realized this fact just when I saw the dates of the photos while uploading them to the post. 😁
I always read your posts, it’s impossible not to read them, they are guaranteed fun (but I don’t always comment on) Having said that
Of the Citroën 2CV, I don’t know much, they didn’t arrive in Cuba, the little I’ve heard I heard from a mechanic who used to travel a lot to France and Spain and there he worked for a few months
As I remember this car came about after Michelin bought Citroën, they wanted to sell more tires and thought of making the car of the people. So they developed this car to compete with the VW Beetle and the Fiat 500 (both from the fascist bloc) so France needed its light vehicle
2cv means fiscal power (horsepower) in French (I owe you that)I thought these cars were only found in the garages of the old people because Europe made war on them for lack of security measures
As always I loved your post, I’m sure those cars are full of European history
Here you are, with your detailed comment :))
Maybe Citroëns are not seen often in Cuba but you still know more about its history than me :D
Though I just know from experience they are so comfortable. We had two, both the same model Citroën GS. It was a "sailing in a space shuttle" feeling haha
They are still seen in the streets, just a few though. And just on Sundays hahaha
If I have to choose, I'll choose this one ☺️
Classic cars are truly cute
Nice choice, this blue one 😇
Vaya coches hermosos, @mipiano. Como el de la matrícula kr2t105 circulan por mi país. Les decimos Polaquitos.
Sí, los Polaquitos, ya veo que son populares en Cuba 😉
Awesome! I love them! In fact, I am just starting to notice that these classic cars make really nice posts. Of course, now that I'm back from Europe...! Sure, here in Mexico we have plenty of oldies too, but no Duck (that's the Ente, the name the Citroën Deux Chevaux is known by in German), or the Zapatito, which I've always thought was the Renault 4, though as it turns out it's the Renault 5, which in fact is quite similar to the (Polski) Fiat 600. But please tell me honestly, which of the two looks more like a shoe? So yes, let's keep on posting vintage cars! I'm certainly getting into the taste of it, though just like you, my knowledge of them is quite limited.
I am sure there are many of these classic ones in Mexico too. In Cuba - so many!! Not that I went there, but from the photos of Hivers, we see those beautiful classic cars. My findings are just let's say normal, old cars that came out from the garages on Sunday 😁
Zapatito - I have not heard that name, but yes, Renault4 looks like a boot. In Serbia Fiat Polski was called peglica - translated to Spanish it would be plancha, planchita.
Let's see how many we find in the upcoming month or two :)
Hahaha, and post them on Sundays, right?
Sin falta! 😅🥂
I'm not sure if these are great to drive, but they are very striking in appearance. I would love to experience at least a short trip. 🚗
People in past used to drive these cars, so they were perfectly good :) though we got a bit spoiled nowadays with the comfort of cars 😅
With all sincerity I tell you that I know nothing about cars, but nothing haha but I can tell you that the first ones, the first pictures there are many in Argentina, so I made a space time trip through your post and I saw how one of my former students went with her husband in a yellow car like that.
What a great Sunday drive! Thanks @mipiano.❤️
These old cars were in motion then, the yellow one took you to the past, as you remembered one of your students and Argentina. I am glad it happened, and that I saw this yellow Citroen parked in front of that restaurant. 😇
Have a nice start of the week, @avdesing 🤓
That student was my first student, many beautiful memories!
Great start of the week @mipiano!😃
If you walk the streets of Cuba you will not stop taking pictures...most of the cars here are antiques 😆. Maybe on Sundays you see some modern ones 🤭.
Maybe because of the pollution issue there is some regulation that allows those cars to circulate only on Sundays?
That Fiat Polski 126 is cool. I was already surprised it was in Spain 🤣. In Poland... there's some logic to it. Our beloved "polaquito" needs a repair urgently 😬😆.
I would get used to them maybe, to these old ones then. But the new cars are not that interesting haha
Your polaquito needs a repair? Is it because of the pothole from the other day? 🤣
The road to travel to the place where my mom lives is between mountains and has many curves. Every time we go I am grateful that it is in the "polaquito" even if it is small, cramped and full of noises...but I don't get dizzy. Modern cars make me sick, every time I have ridden them I end up very dizzy. Naa...es que somos hijos del maltrato.Jajajajajaja
Alabaooo if it's because of the potholes we catch we have to repair it every day 🤣🤣.
Entonces es mejor que no sea de esos potholes jajaja
Super cute :D
We don't have anything like those models of Fiat out here at all.
They look like something out of the movie. Cars. Ton of character! Light on fuel (?)
Your sister little purple one must've been adorable.
Hehe, like from an animated movie :D
It was my sister's first car, no, the second one, sorry, and as it was her favourite colour, she made it be painted haha. When I was really small, we had a Renault 4, it was a funny one, so much space inside compared to today's cars. Or it was just my perception, because I was mini mipiano 😂
Aww my grandfather had a 2 CV Citröen in blue colour. I love them! 😍
So nice ones, right? Citröen - and French cars in general are those that my father likes. During my childhood, we had a Renault 4, two Citroens GS, and a Peugeot 406, among other less interesting cars 😅
Oh, my last car was a C3, I called it little egg, hahaha. It never gave me any engine problems, only the normal wear of parts over time.
And my father had a Renault 6 and now and old Citröen Xsara. So yes, we agree with you and your dad! 😁
French cars rule 😉
Interesting line up of cars. I don't see models like this here often perhaps they were on a Sunday but I can't confirm, haha. I like that red Citroën and the Polski Fiat 126. I went to a car show towards the end of the summer and thought it was a Sunday but picture confirmation shows Saturday 😊 Have a great evening there!
Maybe you don't take that walk on Sunday hahha 😂 so that's why you don't see cars like these often on the streets :D
Or simply, you have to come to Spain (but make sure it happens on Sunday lol)
The odds are in my favor going to Spain, on Sunday ✅ haha
You Car freak! 😂
Guess these are all Sunday cars, I mean, they only show their faces when it is the day of rest. Likely not up for the task of creating and changing worlds. Cars with age, Cars at rest, Cars enjoying their pension... or something like that 🙃
The Renault has on of those tickets from a police officer on the window?
Haha, Car Freak - only on Sundays, when the old cars come out from their resting place 😂
The ticket on the Renault is not from a police officer but a flyer of those who buy old cars and later sell them for higher price, or sell the parts. Usually, the targeted cars where they put these flyers are older cars, though it happened many times I also got one of these papers attached to our car. Conclusion - our car is getting old. Well, it turned ten. But I forgot to make it a birthday cake 😂
wow, what nice of them to ask through a flyer, instead of just taking the car 😂
Hahaha, very nice people, it seems :)
Do you have a Sunday suctioner for classic cars 😂?
You didn't say which one is your favorite! Mine is the Blue and White Citroen. 😜

😱
How beautiful the laughter sounds!
I like such cars so much also one of our friend bought retro renault 12 1975 it's fun to go somewhere with it, all eyes on us😎 Out of those, the orange one is my fav 😍
Oh, I bet it is an attraction then, to go somewhere with a retro car 😃
Though I guess it's consumption could be a bit painful for the wallet haha
Certainly, if the wallet could talk, it would tell us very bad things😂😂 But it's still worth it to take a ride in the retro car
Of course it is worth :)
Very cool actually 😇
Oh ! I loved it , old cars are beautiful, I think the red Citroën was my favorite, @denisda I think he has a Polski like the one you show us, just in blue color, here in Cuba there are more old cars than new ones 😎😂😅 it's like a museum and it is everyday 😂😂
Denis also has a Fiat Polski?
Yes, I saw from the photos of Cuban users many of those classic and old cars 😃
🤣
Yes fiat 126P acá le decimos Polakito
Yea I have one. That car is my little child, And it has never failed me, they are very good 🚗 cars.
😊😊😊😊😊
Hola Denis 😀
Good to hear that your little Polaquito never failed you! Maybe they were better than many of the cars made nowadays 🚗
Thank you ☺️ 😝. A decir verdad no tengo de donde sacar para otra opción además. Pero si muy contento con ese ejemplar.
Mientras estás contento, todo fresa 😄
Amazing old car. ❤️
They are very dear to me...
I believe you enjoyed this company... @mipiano 🤗
The Citroens are so cute, right? And the Renault 4, do you remember that it was called Pobednik Vremena? 😇
Very cute 🥰
Oh yes, the Renault was the Pobednik Vremena...and my dad had that famous car....🤗
My father had it too 🥂
I think it was a very popular car in its time! 😇
🥰
It sure is🙂
They were very sweet ❤️
Lovely cars 😍
Yes :)))
Last Sunday I didn't see any of these 🥲
Nice car.. people hardly like using the color yellow for car.. but this is looking woow.. I like it
The yellow gives it a very positive vibe 😃
I actually love these cars. They are old but still looking good. I guess I love it because I love old things, lol
Old but gold

Love the orange Fiat!
Yes, it is a little car with character :)
Whenever I see such old cars on the road, I make sure to take pictures of them without standing and if people allow me, I make sure to sit inside and watch them because I like it so much.
Greetings from Cuba. The truth is that those cars are very nice. They circulate here all the time. some in excellent condition and others deteriorated but rolling. Some call them almendrones. There are also many Poles but they are small and large families cannot fit. I really liked your post.
Greetings back to you.
learned so many things about your country from the posts and comments of all the users from Cuba, thanks to Hive. If I ever visit that island, I will maybe have to take a ride in one of those almendrones :)
These vintage cars are amazing, in their heyday I'm sure they turned heads on the streets they drove on, I've seen them before in travel vlogs of some guys through Madagascar(more exactly in Antananarivo), these cars were still used as taxis.
The cars are around 50 years old and still functional, very interesting.
These cars still work, of course, we don't see them often but here are there I can spot them. It seems that I can especially spot them on Sundays hahaha
Probably on Sundays the owners show them off on the streets of the city so that as many people as possible can see them, it is however interesting that even after 50 years since they were produced they still work😊
If well maintained, they can perfectly work. Although there are some restrictions, you know, in big cities (in their city centres) you can't drive cars that don't match some regulations about pollution...
You're absolutely right, if they don't meet pollution standards, they might not get them there, but these cars are still the pride of their owners.
