India is a land of festival. So many festivals to enjoy and currently we are celebrating Durga puja. This is annual hindu festival in India where we pays homage to the Hindu goddess Durga, and is also celebrated because of Durga's victory over demon Mahishasura. The festival is celeberated with lot of enthusiasm and happiness all around. The whole city get transformed into a different look with the celebration. Everyone enjoy the festival and so does me.
Yesterday night we went on a city tour to see rhe different tents called pandals that comes up at difderent areas to mark the ocassion.
First let me introduce you to the festival. The festival is celebrated for 9 days. Many people likes to keep fast and sings hymns to pay their homage. At the same time many people like to visit the temple to offer their prayers. This is how I also started my day. I went to the nearest temple to offer my prsyers and taking the goddess blessings. Litting diyas in front of the goddess idol is a common sight at every temple. This is what it appears in my temple.
Durga puja also involves grand processions, cultural events, and the installation of pandals with idols of Goddess Durga. Pandals are the make shift tents with various themes constructed at various city location. The grand the pandals the grand the idol inside. The pa dals are rhe work of sheer expertise as it shows the different themes quite easily.
These pandals are made up of bamboos and and sometime iron pipes. Each of them were built to resemble some.some architectecture. Like a movie theme or any importsnt building or any other shape and style of own. They have enough space inside like a hall to accomodate the devotees. They are like a big building structure.

Each of the pandals were self financed or built with public donation. Only to celebrate the festival. People from distant place visot these pandals at different locality tonoffer repect to the goddess. I made a visit to approx 5-6 of them in my one hour of outing. The roads leading to these pa dala were illuminated with lights and colourful decoration. They were very attractive as well as big and huge in size. Some of them have a welcome gate right near the pandals area.

I am amazed by the way they able to make such magificient structure so easily. It feels to be in completelly difderent areas. This time around i saw some ISRO theme pandals as well as some.hit bollywood movies theme. The ocassion is so grand and these pandals simply make them to awesome.

Before visiting these pandals make sure, that you will be greeted with lot of rush and crowd. As everyone like to make a visit and the see the man made temporary architecture. I am overwhelmed by the outing that simply made my weekend to sublime.

I'm so glad you got to experience the Durga Puja celebrations and the pandals. I'm especially impressed by the variety of themes and styles of the pandals. It's clear that a lot of thought and effort goes into their construction.
