It's been a bit, but I finally got back to a #sublimesunday post, as inspired by @c0ff33a. This morning, I headed to the river to watch thunderstorm clouds form and roll in from the west...and I ended up taking way too many photos...
The clouds were incredible. So many hues and shadows...a true symphony in the sky. I was just fortunate to be able to get away for a few minutes to take in the scene.
I recently discovered a YouTube channel called The Daily Stoic. It seems to be a whole brand thing now with books to be sold and adverts to be had, but the essence of it has been resonating with me more of late. The idea is to be present and in the moment. I've always struggled with anxiety most of my life; yet attempting to be in the moment has been an appealing idea. I won't lie; it's challenging to get the brain to rewind and back down from anxious thoughts, but when I get there, it feels great. This morning's photo shoot was definitely one of those moments. I literally stood there and took photos...enjoying the moment and not dwelling on the work week to come. It's a powerful feeling and quite refreshing. And scary, too!
I don't know...but there might be something to the idea of stoicism. I picked up Meditations by Marcus Aurelius for a read. Maybe it will resonate with me too. I'll give a read this week and get back to it. Who knows? Maybe it will inspire a few posts here and there too.
Anyway, enough deep thoughts for a #sublimesunday. Thanks for checking out my photos, and I hope to be back here again next weekend.
Breathtaking view bro, I love the cloud formations, it feels great when we are able to immerse ourselves in the moment and enjoy the present something we often fail to do as we are forever busy.
Enjoy the week ahead.
you as well - off to another week indeed!
Thank you.
