Time spent by the river is never wasted.

In Hinduism, bathing in the Ganges River is considered a pious ritual because it is believed to cleanse the body and soul, and wash away sins. The Ganges is considered sacred and is referred to as the goddess of purification and forgiveness, Maa Ganga. Many people vistis some religious places to keep a holy dip. Be it Haridwar, or Allahabad, or Varanasi, people always visit these places for holy dip and also to offer prayer. I am not so differrnt, and alwsys look out for places where The river Ganaga is flowing. This time I took a holy bath in Bhagirathi , which is also part of Ganaga at katua, in Kolkatta.

Ganga alwsys holds an immense importsnce in Hindu culture. Millions of Hindus bathe in the Ganges during auspicious days and festivals like Magh Mela and Kumbh Mela. Hindus believe that bathing in the Ganges can wash away sins and help attain nirvana or the afterlife. Every Hindu keeps Ganga water at home in a jar or bottle. Ganga Jal is used in many important rituals, such as weddings, birth ceremonies, and death rituals. So keepyhing at home allows them to purify the places. This time i could not carry water, but took the oppurtunity to take the dip in early hours.

The river always whispers the secrets of the world to those who listen. Bathing in a river can be enjoyable too. I happened to enjoy the time, in the flowing water. Water can be calming and bring people to the present. Though the water appears to be muddy, still if was soothing to take dip inside.

The Ganges River's depth varies along its course, but it's deep in some places. This is why a blown up tyre was tied near the bathing area, to prevent from any accident. The depth of river cannot be measured. It may be a foot or may a metre deep at the next step. At my place of bathing, there is not much safety, so I was taking closer to the bank. It was a perfect blend of mystic morning and amazing river to enjoy the weekend time.

After being there for a while, we went out for some local trips. But bathing in the pious river is what made it special. Rivers are nature's way of reminding us to go with the flow. Our life is like a river, navigate the rapids and enjoy the calm.

Peace!!
