Heading home

Driving away from the sea has always been a tug-of-war between longing and anticipation. The salty sea air and endless horizon fade into our review mirror and is replaced with thoughts of home and the comforts waiting there. As we set off, we had to take one more stop to say goodbye to the waves and grab a much needed caffeine fix for the long drive home.

I wanted to share some fun phone photos from our drive home.

As evening approached, we found ourselves driving along a long country road lined with rows of trees. The sun began its descent painting the sky with orange. I captured some snaps with my phone as we drove, grabbing some blurry memories.

No road trip is ever complete without a pit stop at a padstal (Farm stall) We luckily made it to the stall right before it closed and indulged in some delicious South African treats, including koeksisters. These sweet, syrupy treats were the perfect pick-me-up for the remainder of our drive home.

Honestly the best part of the road trip was arriving home to my waggly-tailed doggos!
