Ratu Safiatuddin is the daughter of Sultan Iskandar Muda who was born under the name Putri Sri Alam. Ratu Safiatuddin also became the wife of Sultan Iskandar Tsani who at that time led the Aceh Sultanate. Long story short Sultan Iskandar Tsani died in 1641, after he died it was very difficult to find his successor to lead Aceh at that time.
