During this visit to the Cathedral of Amiens, I was greatly impressed by the grandeur of its Gothic architecture. Upon entering the nave, my gaze was immediately drawn to the intricate details of the sculptures adorning the pillars and arches of this structure.
I was moved as I contemplated the bronze effigy of Evrard de Fouilloy, a poignant reminder of the history of this cathedral and its significance in the region.
Strolling through the chapels, I witnessed the beauty of the stained glass windows that bathed the interior of the cathedral in colorful and celestial light.
This visit truly allowed me to feel the connection between art, spirituality, and history, and I highly recommend it to anyone wishing to explore the cultural and architectural richness of France.

Lors de cette visite de la cathédrale d'Amiens, j'ai été très impressionné par la majesté de son architecture gothique. En entrant dans la nef, mon regard a été immédiatement attirés par les détails complexes des sculptures qui ornent les piliers et les arcs de cet édifice.
J'ai été ému en contemplant le gisant en bronze d'Evrard de Fouilloy, un rappel poignant de l'histoire de cette cathédrale et de son importance dans la région.
En me promenant dans les chapelles, j'ai pu constater la beauté des vitraux qui baignaient l'intérieur de la cathédrale dans une lumière colorée et céleste.
Cette visite m'a vraiment permis de ressentir la connexion entre l'art, la spiritualité et l'histoire, et je la recommande vivement à tous ceux qui souhaitent découvrir la richesse culturelle et architecturale de la France.

The effigy of Evrard de Fouilloy. He was the bishop of Amiens (1211-1220) and laid the foundation stone of this cathedral in 1220.
The cathedral features two bronze effigies, this one and that of Geoffroy d'Eu, his successor.

La cathédrale compte 2 gisants en bronze, celui-ci et celui de Geoffroy d'Eu, son successeur.
